Intimate wedding...need help!!!

We are getting married mid-April in Foxboro but it's just going to be us and the officient.  I'm not from the area & not sure if it's comfortable enough to have our ceremony outdoors during this time of year...somebody please help, not sure what to do here!!!
If this isn't possible, I need help trying to find an indoor location that is small & romantic, vintage-feel...everything I am finding is a huge ballroom & costs thousands & since its just the two of us, I don't want the room to be so large or cost so much.
Additionally, I would love if the location had a great nature view from indoors, or any body of water (ocean, pond, lake...etc.)

Re: Intimate wedding...need help!!!

  • In April it can be snowing (as it did April 1st this year) or it can be 75 degrees and everything in between.  Generally, it is chilly in April but if it's a quick ceremony it might be okay.  April does tend to be rainy.

I don't really have suggestions on indoor locations, however.  Sorry!
    Anniversary
  • There won't be any views of the ocean in Foxboro. I second the variabliity of the weather in April. It might br great -witheverything blooming but it could also be miserable. Even memorial day can be iffy. That said there are a number of historic homes in the western suburbs that might have something you can use. There is a historic house in Arlington next to the Town hall which is quite nice, inexpensive and has beautiful gardens if they are blooming. There are several in the Wellsely, Lincoln, Waltham area as well. Most allow weddings and have very pretty interiors that are too small for most weddings and thus suppliment them with tents on the grounds. Since april is very marginal for a tent you might be lucky and be able to negotiate to use the interior. Do a goggle search for Historic Homes in Massachusetts.
  • If you are interested in the Cape, Ocean Edge Resort actually has like an "elopement" package for 2.  I think it is $2500 (at least it was 2 years ago when I looked into it).  They set up a ceremony on their beach for you in Brewster MA.  I think it includes the officiant, photographer, flowers, and then a dinner in their restaurant and over night stay.  It was a great price/deal for someone who wanted a private marriage.  The place is beautiful (we stayed there once).  You probalby have to call/email to find out details on the small package.  We considered it, but ended doing a bigger wedding afterall.

    Good luck to you!
  • Check out bed and breakfasts too.  There are bunches all along the coast from Newport RI all the way to Portland Maine.
  • Thank you, I know there is no ocean view in Foxboro...we would just have it there if we couldn't find anything else.  I was trying to explain that I want an indoor location that is small & romantic, vintage-feel & would want the location to have a great nature view from indoors, or any body of water (ocean, pond, lake...etc.)  & I don't want anything North of Boston, I should've mentioned that...sorry!
  • Thank you SO much, this is the most help I  could've asked for...exactly what I was looking for also!
  • Thank you, this is a great idea...we originally wanted to get married at Rosecliff but it's just too expensive right now...maybe later in life, but since we now only have a couple of months there's just not enough time or money for that.
