Workout Accountability: Monday

Good Morning!

How was everyone's weekend?

We're on day 16 of p90x and still going strong.  Saturday was arms and shoulders, yesterday was plyo, and today is another weight day.  I can't wait to get to next week because the routine changes up a bit from the first three weeks. 
FI is getting a little anxious from the lack of running, so I think he may switch to doubles on week five, or might just run over the rest week.  I'm just trying to figure out how on earth I'm going to get enough calories into him to keep him going through those days.

Eating wasn't 100% great, but not too terrible.  I went over my calories but made some decent choices when I did, so the scale is back to where it was on Friday.  I can really actually see myself slimming down, though, which is awesome.

Weekend was pretty uneventful.  We picked up our envelopes from the calligrapher, and went to the beach for a bit.  I also made a low-cal, low-fat, low-sodium fajita recipe in the crockpot that turned out wonderfully.  Yum!

    Lobsters you sound so positive, good for you!

    I had a bad weekend, camping, camp food and virtually no exercise...tried to go swimming but the water was so frigid I only made it to my waist, tried to go hiking, but the camp ground was a lot smaller then originally thought-we lapped the whole place in less than a 20 min WALK. when all was said and done, I gained 3 pounds :(

    bound and determined this week. Plans for zumba tonight and body pump, body combat and a regular workout later in the week.

    fridge is stocked with extra healthy stuff for the weeks meals as well.

  • I stayed on track eating and exercising this weekend. I got a second sunburn though :(. I was always a one burn wonder before, I'm blaming medicines I'm on for this and I am so so mad!

    Friday - Took the evening as a down evening. Snuggled on the couch instead of exercising. It was probably a good plan my charlie horse was still being horsey.

    Saturday - Rode about 12 miles on the bike had to retune the derailers due to the chain falling despite taking it in the night before. Found out I really do have to swap cassettes in the back my legs are really that strong uhg more money to spend. That night we ran our 2 year aniversary run the twilight 4 miler. We did about a 9:30 pace which wasnt bad for 86 degrees! YUCKY! Then we went to dinner. I ate a salad :) but had a milkshake.

    Sunday - Burned myself swimming a mile and a half in the pool. I really hate my meds sometimes.

  • My eating wasn't so great this weekend. I had a baby shower to go to on Saturday, went for ice cream yesterday, and went out for sushi last night. I'm hoping I can get things back to where they were pre-weekend by being good today.

    I did manage to stick with 30ds through the weekend and this morning. I also got in a cardio workout on Saturday, went for a hike with the dog, and went strawberry picking (does that count for squats or something?)

  • I did ok with eating some days, and not so great others.  I did some resistance bands Saturday and went for a walk with FI yesterday.  Very light on the exercise, but got a lot of wedding meetings done.  And the cake tasting...yummy!

  • Morning! I actually did really well this weekend. I eat really well and I worked out both Saturday and Sunday. Today was my rest day.

    Saturday I went to spin class and then I lifted for about 30 minutes. Sunday I did 3.75 miles on the treadmill.

    souptin - are you sure you just aren't gaining muscle??

  • Hi everyone.  My weekend was decent...not amazing.   Went over my calories by a bit on both days, but got in a long walk on Saturday, and then a VERY long walk Sunday afternoon, and also a 2 mile jog last night as well.  I don't usually jog, so I was pretty pleased with myself.  Actually even felt like I could have gone a bit longer, but it was getting really dark.  Today's plan is a walk at lunchtime and then a weights class at the gym.  Maaaaybe another walk tonight with FI depending on what time he gets home from his trip. 
  • I feel...super fat today.  Anyone else have days like that? 

    Weekend wasn't so bad, food wise.  I kind of ate junk food on Saturday between a conference I went to and a baseball game, but I did drink a TON of water (it was 90 degrees and I was tailgating, so, I better have!).  Yesterday wasn't horrible until I drank an entire bottle of Samuel Smith's cider (those are huge; over 220 calories per bottle, too) and then my FI convinced me I could have ice cream, too (only 100 calories, but still). 

    I really really want to go to the gym today but I'm teaching in a room that is like an oven and I'm already sagging at 10:30.  I still have four more hours with first graders who do not want to work today.  Home will be stifling, so working out there will likely be out, too.  Ugh.  I need motivation (and energy!).

  • I had a good exercise weekend but didn't do so hot with food.

    Friday I went to the gym and got 30 minutes of weightlifting and 45 minutes of cardio (stairmaster & elliptical).

    Saturday I did 90 minutes on my bike and played disk golf for an hour with FI and a friend. The downfall was that we ended up getting ice cream (though I did stay under my calories for the day).

    Yesterday I got 55 minutes of cardio at the gym, then attempted weightlifting but after 15 minutes I couldn't do more (my breastbone was aching every time I did any kind of chest weightlifting, and I didn't want to hurt myself so I stopped). The leftover ice cream in my freezer was calling to me and I definitely overdid it after I got back from the gym. I was crazy hungry all day and ended up going over my calories for the day :( - I try to remember that it's okay to slip up every now and then but it's tough when you work so hard to stay on track.

  • I was actually very happy with my weekend.   I managed to make healthy choices all weekend, got exercise in walking all over London on Saturday and getting up to work out this morning. 

    Unfortunately at lunch I went out for curry - I can't resist the curry in London.  Had a lamb and pumpkin dish that was amazing I planned on only eating half of it but it was way too good and ended up eating the whole thing.  This leaves me with about 350 calories for dinner.   I may need to get a walk or something in as well tonight.    I'm not upset I splurged it was definitely worth it.  Just need to be extra good for the rest of the week.

  • Erbear we all have fat days. I get them too :( particularly when my friend comes to town (the friend all ladies have and hate). Feel better this too shall pass.

  • Hi ladies! It's weird.. I look forward to Monday mornings because I know I get to hear how all of your weekends went! I never looked forward to Mondays before...

    I sabotaged myself a bit on Friday and Saturday. I just.. kept eating and eating. I ordered pizza on Friday night while I was home alone (BIG mistake), ate a bit over half of the pizza Friday night (shameful) and then ate 2 more pieces on Saturday for lunch, and sprayed lysol on the rest so I couldn't eat it. Then it went in the garbage. The rest of my eating was good, but that was a LOT of pizza. It's my weakness.

    I got my period yesterday, and then it made sense as to why I was having such difficulty battling pizza cravings on Friday & Saturday. I am determined that this week will be full of good and sensible eating. My week days are usually not a problem - maybe it's because I have this board to keep me busy :) Anyway, this week has to be good because this upcoming weekend I am flying to Vancouver for my Grandma's memorial service which will be full of snacking and big meals I'm sure. I don't see that side of the family very often, so when we do get together...

    Today I am going to go do some intervals I think outside. I was planning on a run, but I feel like switching it up just a little today and will do some speed intervals!

  • @ erbear - I have a fat day about twice a month. Right before I have my period I swear I get so bloated I literally go up a size. It's awful! I just feel like blaaahhhhh for 2 days straight.

    @Sarah - going back to the point above lol, my period always makes me crave things!! It's so hard to resist. Don't beat yourself up too badly, we all have those moments. You will be back on track this week!

    I think I have been gaining muscle (I have not lost much weight over the last few weeks BUT my cloths are much looser on my body) however this weekend, I think I gained FAT and water. I wasn't active and ate a lot of junk that I never eat anymore (think chips, bacon, marshmellows and more beef then I normally eat  in a 2 week period) I am really stepping up my fitness game this week so fingers crossed harder workouts, cut out salt and home cooking shreds the new fat and burns the old stuff.

  • Morning ladies!  Saturday we had a hard day of lifting - did quads, hamstrings & calves all in one day (we normally split those up), Sunday had a day of recovery after my surprise shower/bachelorette party, and this morning we lifted chest & shoulders & did 30 minutes of cardio on the treadmill.

    Final dress fitting is this weekend, so I've got my eye on the prize!  Being really good about eating & exercise this week.

    Yeah, I agree, I do enjoy eating it now and again - I love that losing weight in a healthy way means that you don't have to cut out anything entirely. I just would have preferred to have eaten maybe 2 or 3 slices, and left it! One day, one day.. :)

  • Well, I joined this board a bit over a week ago and haven't posted until today. I had a dirty little secret - I was on a cruise (clearly not diet friendly)! Gained 4 pounds :( Guess it could have been worse. I was probably considered a light eater for a cruise ship. 

    Now that I am back, I am trying to get back on track. It's hard to go from eating alot of rich food back down to my veggies and whole grains though. I don't think I did too bad today and will try to get back to my standards by tomorrow. 

    I walked about 30 min with my Mom tonight and then did my 10 min arm workout from Netflix and 5 minutes of the buns. I am so totally out of shape, I have a long way to go.....
