My wceremony will beign at 7pm. My MOH seems to think that it will "not look nice" if the bridesmaids wear dresses that are not long. The wedding will take place in Maryland in September, it will most definitely be warm if not hot and that sun will not have set a the time of the ceremony. Is there any rule that says that the dresses have to be long if the ceremony is in the evening? I like to follow ettiquette, so I jsut want to know what the rule is. Also the ceremony will take place outside.
Re: Length of Bride's maids' dresses
I don't think there are any "set" rules. There used to be but this is a new day and time. YOU ARE THE BRIDE! You do what you want. My ceremony begins at 6:30 pm in April. It will probably be dark or sun set by then and my bm's have knee length dresses. I was just in a wedding which started at 6:30 pm and we had short dresses too. It's your wedding, not everyone else's. HTH!

[QUOTE]I have never heard of a "set of rules" depending on time, only on formality of the event. If its black tie formal then def long dresses, however, I am with everyone else, DO YOU!
