Curious,

If someone flew across the country to come to your wedding and they brought you a gift and then you get invited to their wedding a couple years later and can't make it. Would you send them a wedding gift even if you can't attend?

Regardless of my "past" with the couple, I send a gift when I can't go to the wedding. Period.

Just wondering, there are a couple good friends that can't attend my wedding, one because her baby is due the week of the wedding and she lives in Iowa. I traveled to her wedding in Iowa from AZ a couple years ago and was curious if she would send a card/gift. It's not about the gift, but more just wanting to know what other people would do...Thanks!

Yes, don't always send a gift unless I know the couple really well though.

I would, I like buying people presents. Depending on the circumstances, I might spend a little less if I weren't attending the wedding, since the couple isn't buying me a nice dinner and all. But I'd definitely send something.

Same.
I send a gift if I've seen/talked to the person within the last year. I've been receiving invitations for weddings of distant cousins that I haven't seen since I was a toddler - and forgot they even existed...so no gifty there.
