  Growing up in PA, it's all over my Facebook. I'm still wondering about that though because they are the one one who has reported it. I'm waiting to see it on our city paper. Anyway though, when he was fired, I said he wouldn't live much longer- it'll kill him. I know he had cancer but I think he lived for football. My grandfather is 87 and golfs 3 times a week. I don't think he'd live longer if he couldn't play golf. Make sense?

  Hmmm, watching tennis on ESPN and the ticker's breaking news is that he's in "serious condition." Interesting.

  I'm sad for his family. He's younger than my grandpa and I can't imagine the day he won't be here. It makes my heart hurt

  Yep, it's been confirmed.  He has now passed.  It's sad that the scandal came so close to the end of his life.  I believe he deserved the reprimand, but it's unfortunate that it probably hastened his death and left a cloud over his legacy.

  I'm having a hard time with this. I hate penn state. I'm a huge Pitt fan and it's a natural rival. That being said. Joe meant a lot to that university. My friends from high school, who went to college ere, look up to him as a father figure and mentor. Even if they didn't know him. It's a sad day for the penn state community and my heart goes out to his family and his players.
