Question about ceremony site (decorating/aisle)

We're getting married at the Troy Historical Museum and Village at their old 1800's church. The only thing I'm unsure of is that there is no center aisle. I'm unsure of how we're suppose to walk down the aisle, seat people or even decorate. Here is a picture of what it looks like. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

    A friend of mine got married in a church with no center aisle. They just walked down the side aisle. They used the same aisle for both entering and exiting, though I thought it'd be cool to use both side aisles, one for entering and one for exiting. Then everyone sort of gets to see you.

    As for decor, I'm useless. If you haven't already, you should check with the venue to see what restrictions there are. You could do tall (pew-height) candles, pew bows, flower pomanders, etc. etc.

    Will they let you decorate the ends of the pews?  I know some historic places are very strict regarding decorations. Will they let you decorate the altar area? I'd decorate the ends of the pews with some fluffy tulle and flowers, and some flowers near or on the altar area that would look nice in your pictures of the ceremony

    We're allowed to decorate but we're not allowed to use any sort of adhesives. We can also decorate the alter but again no adhesives.

    You can get ribbons or rubber bands to attach things to the pews - most churches don't let people attach things so florists are used to working with that. 

    You can rent candelabras and flower stands from florists or Hobby Lobby. http://www.hobbylobby.com/departments/wedding/rentals.cfm

    Whatever you will end up doing, you'll want the focal point of the room to be where you and hubby are standing, so any kind of larger arrangement should be behind where you are standing on the alter.

    And I agree with Meegle's idea of up one side and down the other!  What a cool idea!

    I agree about going up one aisle and down the other......... that way everyone gets a "close up look" at least once!

    We used pew cones filled with baby's breath. Wish I had a picture but none yet. I got the pew cones from Joann's, it's part of David Tutera's wedding collection. They are white with lacy tops, then I used black ribbons to have them hung from the end of each pew. You could make your own also by using white paper lace doilies, or another color of paper and cut the top with a lacy stencil or scissors. Baby's breath lasts forever, so no worries about it drying out.
