Registery Information

Can someone confirm for me what is proper etiquette for registeries? I've been reading a lot lately that you should register, but you shouldn't include that information in your invite.Rather you should instead have a website with that information, and then include the website link in the invitation. Is this the way it goes now?

As for things like this, I'm fine with following whatever the current etiquette is. But I have to say, when my sister included her registry information in her invite, I was far from offended. I was under the impression that was the norm. Not anymore?:

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

    Registry info should never be on an invite.  On a wedding website or by word of mouth is how it should be done.
