DIY flowers- where to get them?

after much hemming and hawing, i've decided to diy my own centerpieces in mason jars and antique bottles.

i'm not picky about flowers and will use whatever looks good, but where should i go to find the flowers the day before? any suggestions?

I would go to the strip district, if you can.  For a work event, we got enough flowers for 30 tables for $100, because we went at 3:00 pm.  Just make sure you have enough water and a place to store them overnight.

When is the wedding?  We decided to do DIY centerpieces.  My mom got a seed catalouge and is growing all the flowers herself.  Granted, my dad isn't getting his vegtable garden this year, but worth it.

I'd gotten flowers through Costco for my sister's shower.  We placed red gerber daisies in mason jars tied with a black and white polka dot ribbon.  I liked how they looked and the price was reasonable.   The only stressful thing about ordereing them online is that they gave me a range of dates for delivery so I was nervous they would come too early and wilt.
