Talk to me about your Floral Budget.....

Just so I know what is the norm, and not too expensive.....what have been your experiences w/ Floral.  What are you spending/did you spend?

I will need:

Bridal Bouquet
3 BM's Bouquets
2 Jr BM's Bouquets

9 Boutineers
4 Corsages

2 Tall Arrangements for Pillars for ceremony (we are using our own pillars)
1 Tall Arrangement for Harvest Table (cheese, crackers, fruit, dips etc)
10 Loose stems

And 12 centerpieces - which I will have to downsize as we need to pay more money now for our photographer (who is not a friend giving us a break on pricing).

I omitted chair flowers for the ceremony, and the head table centerpiece (Will just use vases and our bouquets) to save money.  I will be meeting w/ the florist to discuss the chosen flowers soon but I really need to come up with a budget and I have no idea what to base it on, so I am hoping someone can share what they paid?

Thank you SO much. :)

For my bouquet, 5 BMs, groom, flower girl,  6 GM (though we may do pocket squares), the centerpieces (approx 150 guests), a couple things for the ceremony...not sure if I'm forgetting anything...
I want to say that my estimate was 2500 (maybe a little less). I'm also leaning toward using Callas so I'm sure I could definitely drop it down if I needed to.

    Good Luck!

My estimate was about $1300-$1400 for my bridal bouquet, 7 BM bouquets, bucket of rose petals for flower girl and for petal cones, decorations of the gazebo for the cermony, and 3 small vase centerpieces for 13 tables and more flowers for the fireplace mantel in the reception ballroom.

It totally depends on your flowers,  We are using gerberas, dahlias, and ranunculus.  I am meeting with my florist again on Saturday to go over the centerpieces, so I don't have my quotes for that.

    1 Bridal
    2 BM Bouquets
    8 Bouts (1 groom, 2 GM, 3 dads, 1 JP, & 1 reader)
    4 Corsages (3 moms & 1 grandma)

Our quote for the above was $360.00 plus delivery

We still need to get to get quotes for:
2 Tall Centerpieces (one for the entrance and one for the candy buffet)
12 Centerpieces (we already have the vases)

kls....talk to me about this HOT bouquet!

Ok so, about 1500 - 2000 is the range.. I think if I did my centerpiece idea (tall vases that look like wine glasses (Michaels vases with a hefty arrangement) it would bring up the $$$. I need to figure out a new centerpiece and cut the cala lilies and orchids out of my flowers.

Our wedding is vineyard themed, and on the tables we are not doing numbers, but names of wines written on picture frames that hold a different photo from our sesion at the vineyard.

The Riverhouse has votives to use around the tables, and we are throwing corks on the table around the centerpiece from our fave Vineyards....just need to have an idea for the centerpiece.

Ugh. My brain hurts...I need to think.

This is what I have to say about florists--it has been the most frustrating part of planning my wedding.  I have seen about 5 different florists and emailed about 3.  The 3 that I did not meet with were way out of my price range.  I have budgeted about $2000 but was quoted anywhere from 2100 to 4500.  One florist quoted me 2000-3000 and then when I met her in person and she saw my engagement ring the price suddenly went up to 4500.  I'm not kidding!  I then found a "rookie" florist who quoted me 2100 but then started to play with the price when we couldn't agree on candelabras to rent.  When I suggested that I would rent them myself, she said her price would only go down by $50!  Give me a break!  I have since decided to rent crystal candelabras for each table, then buy 250 wholesale roses at $200 with bud vases for the tables, and then have Stop & Shop complete the rest of my order.  I'll let you know the quote from S&S when I meet with them next month.  Seriously, if you have a nice ring or car, don't wear it when you see the florist.
