water weight

I know I have a ton of extra water weight.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of it?  I have been drinking TONS of water to no avail.  I know Dandelion extract works really well but I am deathly allergic o it.  I am trying this organic pill but that has not worked either.  Do those over the counter diuretics help?

Re: water weight

  • I drink tons of water and add a few cups of cranberry juice whenever I'm bloated.  Really helps de-bloat me quickly. (24-48 hrs.)

The over the counter water pills are great but not highly effective as they don't address the problem of why you're bloating. They'll work but it'll just come right back unless you resolve whatever issue is causing you to bloat in the first place.
  • You said you are drinking a lot of water, which is great.  How is your sodium intake?

  • What is a lot of water weight?  I honestly don't know how much water weight a normal person carries.  Thanks!

And I don't know how you'd know how much of your weight is water weight, either.

  • If you think you're bloated, a little apple cider vinegar usually helps me.
  • I know it is water weight because 1) I have epilepsy and the medications screw with my hormones BIG time so I occasionally get sort of what is best described as PMS for close to a month.  I know when this starts happening because within 2 days I will put on 8 pounds.  Never fails. 2) I drink a LOT of fluid, close t 3000mL a day.  S I should be peeing more than I am.

I had lemon water last night.  IT worked well.  How do you drink Apple cider vineagar? Isn't it really strong?

<div>That's about 50% more than you should be drinking.  Why do you drink that much?</div><div>
</div><div>Excessive water intake can be just as dangerous as too little.  You could develop kidney problems or hyponatremia.</div>

[QUOTE] you are supposed o drink close to 3000mL per day.  8- 8 oz glasses and 1 ounce has 30 mL.  So I am not hugely over.  I ususally don't quite hit the 3000mL mark either.  One would take much more than that.  It is still under a gallon.  A gallon is roughly 3700 mL.

    You're about 50% over, like I said.  8 8-oz glasses, or 64 ounces, is about 2000 ml.

If you're staying on top of it and your doctor is aware, then good, but if you keep that up long term you can damage your body.
  • I drink so much because my seizure medication makes me very very thirsty.  My doctor knows about this and all my labs are fine.
