Food Tasting bummer

Okay, so I scheduled my tasting at Courtyard on St James for our wedding, and my coordinator told me that we won't be able to taste the beef carvery since they cannot prepare a whole carvery for four people. I'm quite disappointed because its one of the main selections for our menu. I didn't expect a whole carvery, but at least a sampling. Is that normal or am I just being too over the top?

That does sound odd that they can't prepare a smaller sampling portion..I have not heard of this.  Just had my tasting yesterday and they made EVERYTHING!! Even the main courses so??

A smaller piece will not taste the exact same, so that is tough.  I would be tempted to find out when their next event is with the Beef, and go by and taste it before it is served.

Most places we looked at actually would not serve the beef for the tasting. It seems odd, but it is common.

Thank you, ladies. That comes my nerves a bit. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't demanding something that's not a common practice. She stated that everyone who has the beef carvery love it, and they never taste it at any of the tastings. I did read reviews about their food, and theres alot of praise.

KRitchie44, that is a great idea! I plan to take off work and attend their open house event in February, and I hope to taste it there!

That sounds good! My FI said that he would just dress up, show up to their next catered event, and taste the food! Wedding crashrs style!

Crashing for a taste test would be fun, but I would want to be told about it if it were my wedding! I think I might freak out.
