Natural/Organic Wedding Dress/Skirt

I'm on the hunt for a non-traditional, natural wedding dress or skirt/top combo. I spent about 1 month hunting in bridal salons, only to realize (duh) that they don't have what I was looking for.

Any recommendations on places to go in the D.C. area to look for natural looking and feeling dresses/skirts/tops as an alternative to the stiff, pouffy, crusty types?

Thanks!!

When I was looking for gowns, I went to a place called Promise for Savvy Brides in Bethesda.  They carry a lot of Monique Lhuillier gowns, which are all hemp.  They were beautiful, but still a little too much (money-wise and dressy-wise) for me.

Another place I looked was online at Threadhead Creations http://www.threadheadcreations.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=bridal I absolutely LOVE these gowns, but in the end I ended up finding a picture of another dress and having a seamstress in Fairfax recreate/alter it to my liking.  I'm having mine made of organic cotton instead of hemp.  I think I have pictures in my bio (link down below the post) of the one I used for inspiration.

    Good luck!

    Hi sunshine_day_dreams...

Thank you so much for your reply! I looked up Promise for Savvy Brides, and unfortunately, they have closed/gone out of business.

I had my eye on a threadhead creations dress, but then I found one on this site: http://store.romanticthreads.com/index.html in the casual/second wedding section that I absolutely love! I ordered it, so I'm crossing my fingers it will look and feel right when it arrives!

    Happy planning :)
