Vows.. are you writing your own??

FI and I have been discussing writing our own vows so I started on mine... As I'm sitting here reading them over and over again - I am not sure I can say them out loud without crying like a baby? What is everyone else doing?

This is what I have so far ("Hero" is an inside thing between fi and i):

Tim, you are the love of my life and my Hero. Today, I take you to be my loving husband. I promise you that I will be your biggest cheerleader in life and to always be there for you in the best and worst of times. I vow to cherish our love, devote myself to you, to always take care of you and spend my life making you happy. Our love is the purest example of how wonderful life can be when you reach for the stars and bring back an entire galaxy. You have shown me a love and happiness that I never thought was possible. I am honored to become your wife today. I promise to love you and honor you for all the days of our lives and beyond.

They sound good to me. FI and I could never make it thru reading our own so we are just doing some of the generic vows.

Wow that was great! FI and I are using genric vows. He is a stand-up comedian and I don't trust him with a mic! But I wish I could do something like yours.

Well I almost teared up reading YOUR vows, no way could I get through OURS! haha we're not doing the super generic version of vows, but we are still doing the repeat after me thing. I could never make it through vows if we wrote them by ourselves. I'd be a blubbering mess.

Ugh, totally teared up reading yours. We are doing generic ones, no way I could make it through my vows otherwise. Yours sound absolutely beautiful though, I seriously love it!

We're doing a combination of our own vows, and traditional ones. Our ceremony will be Catholic mass. Our priest, who we adore, encouraged us to make the mass as personal to us as possible and we thought this would be one way to do that. We're just going to each say a short something to each other, then our priest will do the traditional vows with us. Haven't even begun to think about what to say!

Your vows are beautiful. We are also writing our own vows too. Even though I have memorized what I will say I'm keeping a note card in hand just in case.

Here are my vows.

**Hubby's name**, My love. We have been through several ups and downs while I believe God has been preparing us for this moment and for our future together. I promise to keep the good memories alive, and to let the bad ones go. I vow to treat each morning as a new day to love you. I will continue to remain the woman you feel in love with - Honest, caring, encouraging, spiritual and playful. I am not perfect but I will pray for wisdom in becoming a better wife. I will not forsake you or these vows that I have made. This is my unbreakable promise to you.

Im struggling big time. Every time I write mine I delete them because I feel like they turn into me me me when im trying to express my love for FI

Oh I love your vows!! We were planning on writing our own but I guess I became kind of stressed and when we got our ceremony packet- they had several vows for us to pick out from (or we can do our own). We decided to pick out one from their packet.

I think it would feel more special if we wrote our own, but..... Oh well- the stress got to me.
