Early Shower--when to send thank yous?

Hey guys! My wedding is in February of next year, but my aunt decided to throw me a bridal shower at the end of this month because of timing. Its really hard for all of us to be together at one time and the 4th of July is perfect for that. Anyhow, I'm already starting to receive gifts in the mail for this and I'm wondering--do I send out thank yous after the shower is over, or wait until after the wedding? It seems like an awfully long time to wait to send thank yous, but I wasn't sure.

  • For gifts you recieve now: open and verify everything is in good working order then write the thank you right away.

Post-Shower- Write thank yous for all the gifts you recieved at the shower afterwards. The sooner you get them done the less likely you are to forget them etc.

[QUOTE]Also, after you write the thank you note, you shouldnh't use the gift until after the wedding.  Or, if you use it before that, make sure you have the money to replace it.

<div>It's in case the wedding doesn't take place due to breaking up, injury, sickness, death, etc.  In those cases the bride/groom should offer to return the gifts (including cash gifts) unused so the giver can return them to the store.  Though practically, many guests would tell them to keep the gifts if it was a tragic reason for the wedding to not take place.  But that's why the rule is there.  If the gift has been used then the bride/groom need to purchase a new one to give back to the guest.</div>
