Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invitations

I'm going to try within the next week to take the invitations to the printers.  I have all the information set that we want on there except the exact time.  When we booked the church we put down 3 o'clock.  This time isn't set in stone and we are able to adjust it at any time.  We have decided to start the ceremony at 3:30 because we want the hands moving upward as we are wed.  Do I put 3:30 on the invitation or do I put 3 o'clock?  We will have music right before the ceremony starts.  I read online that you should put it a half hour before hand so that it means that all guests have time to arrive and be seated and you don't have guests walking in as you walk down the aisle.  I know some people come early to the wedding so I don't want people coming in 20 minutes early thinking the wedding is at 3 when it starts at 3:30.  That is a good while to wait and I don't want to be rude and I don't want the guests to be bored.  What time would be appropriate to put on the invitation?

Re: Invitations

  • If you put 3 oclock in your invitation, people will show up definitely show up before 3. Set the proper time on the invitation.

If you don't want people walking down the aisle with you, close the doors, and have someone "manning the door" and telling people they unfortunately can't come in anymore because the ceremony has already begun. The best person for this would be a day-of coordinator.
  • Also, you do realize that at 3:30, the hour hand on the clock is still moving down?

We were told that you are supposed to have the minute hand moving upward as the ceremony is going on.  Or is it supposed to be both hands?  This is why I am so confused and apprehensive. <div>

The upward movement is said to bring blessings upon the couple as the minute hand is "ascending towards heaven."</span> </div>
