So do you want to do a pocketfold and add something fun to it? or just something else altogether?

When i first think of your invites/packaging, I think of the burlap that is going to be on your table.. is there a way to make a belly band or something cool out of that? I couldn't find any cool pics.. just found this one.

I'm not sure I'd do it so thick but I think that would be cool/different.

I loved your STDs, maybe you can make this a suite of sorts and do something similar to that??

i love your wedding btw. every time i look at your bio i remember that i have a crush on your wedding.

LOL thanks for crushing and the help. I totally love your pomanders. When I tried making mine they looked like poo so I ditched the idea and now just admire yours :) I actually do like the idea of burlap but that might make it heavier than I would like. I'll make a belly band on one and weigh it. I do like bellyband and pocketfolds. I just feel every invite I have seen is sooo pretty and elegant. Which I think looks great but not really the look I am going for :) I just cant figure out what to do to make it rustic or vintage. Maybe lace belly bands? I already purchased my vintage stamps for the invites. Someone on the paper board gave me the suggestion of using wood somehow. Which I also like the idea of but have no clue what to do and that to might be too heavy.

    these are my stamps

wood is a GREAT idea. I was trying to google rustic stuff after I posted and couldn't find anything. i really love invitations that are just like a card and the rsvp is held in by lace/ribbon, i saw woodgrain cardstock once.. a girl on the diy board back in the day when i stalked used it for hers and it was AMAZING! BTW, I totally thought of bringing my veil stuff to the GTG so you could help me... hahahaha.

I like the idea of a lace bellyband - like a slightly bolder/darker blue than the print.  As for the pocketfold, I might do a red to match the red font.  Love the style!

Love love LOVE your RSVP! I don't remember seeing that if you posted it before.
Yes, there is really cool super-thin sheets of real wood "cardstock" that was labeled as even being able to run through the printer (?!). I saw it at Ben Franklin's in Redmond. They have a couple different types of wood, but it is a bit pricey.

I think just a strip of burlap as a belly band would be cool. Rather than tying it and making knot lump in the envelope, you could wrap it so that the ends overlap on the front and then put some melted red sealing wax on it. I made this up in my head so can't really find a picture of it, but here's a belly band of burlap that I think is cute:

Alternate idea is to wrap some rough hemp or other rustic-looking twine around it. I love sealing wax but then that's because it also makes a flatter lump than tying knots :)

sarak- I wish I could have seen them :)

KST- Have you by chance remember the name of the wood paper. I dont really have any time to go up to ben franklin until sunday. I was hoping I could find it online somewhere

Tygirljojo- Do you I should do the bellyband over the pocketfold or it would look better just the invite, etc. with the bellyband holding them together?

the burlap idea is really growing on me. I put one together with a strip of burlap. i plan to go get it weighed today. But do I need anything else with the invites or just invite and rsvp? Thanks everyone your such a BIG help :)

Depends on the style of the pocketfold, I think.  Going off KST's wax seal idea, if your pocketfold has the triangular sort of thing that looks like an envelope, then you could either just seal it with a wax seal or if you want to incorporate burlap, cut squares of burlap just slightly larger than the seal, put the seal on the burlap, and then adhere the burlap square with the seal to "seal" the pocket fold.  Of course, the latter is more time consuming.
