WEDDING CAKE FLAVOR(S)!?

We just had our tasing last week and decided on our flavors!  She gave us a sample of: chocolate, vanilla, marble, carrot, banana, and red velvet. She had different kinds of mouses and filling for us to try with then and some had vanilla butter cream, other had cream cheese frosting.

We were completely blown away by the banana cake! FI and I agreed it was our favorite of all of them and we HAD to have it! We are going to need 4 layers so we decided to get the largest and the top just plain Banana with the vanilla butercream and the other two layers we chose vanilla with a layer of raspberry filling in it just in case we had people that weren't fans of banana, but so far everyone has said how they would love banana and what a cool, unexpected choice for our wedding cake!

Just curious what everyone else is doing for their cake flavor!

    We have a 4-tiered cake and the bottom three will be vanilla with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. The top tier will be the same except no raspberry filling.

    We're doing "combination cake" which is alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla with raspberry jam for the bottom tier, the middle tier will be spice cake with apple jam, and the top tier will either be a repeat of the bottom tier, or we'll see if we can get a buttercream flavored like canolli filling :)

    Just talking about it is making me crave that cake....4 more months!  Phew!

    ohh I wanted Chocolate Peanut Butter until I found out I have a wheat allergy.
    We are doing a Rice Krispie Treat cake for FI and I; everyone else will have mudpies and s'mores for dessert :)

    Our main cake is lemon. My cousin really wanted to do a grooms cake for us, too, so it's chocolate.

    Yummy, I want cake now lol.  Our bottom tier is white cake with lemon filling.  Middle tier is devils food chocolate cake with raspberry filling.  Top tier is white cake with raspberry filling.  All tiers are covered with vanilla buttercream.  Can't wait to eat it!

    We are having a three tier cake with each tier being a different flavor.  We only have two picked out right now which are dreamsicle and amaretto.  We're still deciding on the last flavor but we usually go in to get cupcakes from their bakery when we are in the area so we are doing that to help pick out the last flavor.

    We are having 3 teirs. The bottom teir will be white with pinneapple cream filling, middle layer will be lemon with strawberry cream filling and the top layer that we will be keeping will be banana with a banana cream filling. We fell in love with the banana cake we would have done the whole thing banana, but my mom and a few others don't like banana so we kept it for us... Lol

    I'm having a 3 tier cake too and those are 2 of the flavors that we picked as well!!!  The other layer is going to be marble (yellow and chocolate).

    Red velvet cake with cream cheese icing in between the layers. We have to have buttercream icing on the outside because it's easier to manage/makes smooth.

    We are having a pretty unique cake. instead of having the traditional white cake or a cake that is patterned after my dress, we're having each tier one of the wedding colors. Our colors are lavender (DB wisteria, so a darker lavender), chocolate brown and cream. our top tier will be brown, so chocolate icing (and square), and we'll save that for our 1 year. not sure what flavor that will be yet, I told the baker to be creative. I personally think eating year old cake from the freezer is gross, but FI insisted, so I gave in. next tier will be round, coconut cream cake with a whipped cream/coconut filling, coconut cream cheese icing and shaved coconut on the outside. next will be square, lemon cake with fresh blueberries and lemon curd in the center with a blueberry cream cheese icing (I loathe buttercream, so all icings are cream cheese). bottom tier is round, chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese icing, fresh sliced straberries, bananas and icing in the center and chocolate curls on the outside. I have this amazing vision for the cake, and have talked with the baker extensively about it, so I'm really hoping it meets my expectations!
    as a surprise for the FI, I'm also having a groom's cake made in the shape of his accordion. I'm so excited! I told the baker to make it a chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse filling. I found a recipe for peanut butter mousse that is SUPER easy. and gave it to her to use. I can't wait for the look on his face when he sees the cake! he's going to be amazed. Funny part is that when I placed our original cake order, I booked it for 200 people. the Grooms cake was going to be an extra cake that we could eat the next day at his parents' house. Now that our list has jumped to 250, we may actually end up using all the cake, so that makes me happy! I ordered extra and  didn't think we'd need it, and now we do, but I don't have to pay more! :)

    We're having two cakes. My mom is going to make us a 3-tier cake, probably chocolate with white icing. It will be decorated with a string of pearls around the base of each layer, and real tiger lilies. For our at-home-reception, we'll have vegan cheese cake!

    Three tiers - bottom is carrot cake with cream cheese icing between the layers and covered with buttercream. The top tier that we will save is also this flavor. The middle tier will be plain vanilla and buttercream and we will have several toppings to the side of the cake - strawberry, caramel, etc.

    We will also have a groom's cake which will be chocolate. 

    Mmmm. Caaaake. :-)

    This sounds so good and is really similar to we are thinking.  We are planning on doing a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling, chocolate cake with chocolate mouse filling, and vanilla with lemon.  I really should call my uncle (our baker) and figure it out.

    mmmm!! I cannot wait for our cake! It's amazing! Other than being married (of course), I think the cake is my favorite thing about the wedding (taste and design-wise)! Haha.

    We are doing cupcakes because I love cupcakes(yum) flavors will be chocolate with buttercream icing, strawberry with strawberry icing, and probably vanilla with buttercream icing for the people who just wants plain vanilla cupcakes. Our 2 tier cake flavors will probably be butter with buttercream icing. The groom's cake will probably be red velvet. And we will wrap our cupcakes in these fancy wrappers below

    We have a 3 tier cake all of it will be white cake with cream cheese frosting. The bottom tier will have a blackberry cream filling, the middle will have a key lime filling, and the top will be half blackberry and half key lime. I couldn't decide what I wanted in the top so the cake lady said should could do both.

    I tried to get my fiancé to do a rice krispie "cake", but he said no. He doesn't really eat cake and I was going to get a kitchen cake made so I don't see why he wouldn't budge. Oh well....

    Op-that banana cake sounds good, but sadly I can't eat bananas. :(
    We haven't decided yet. :/
