The Incredible Shrinking Bride-To-Be!!!!

Yesterday I had a follow up dress fitting from Friday and talk about a confidence boost through the roof!

On Friday I went to see my seemstress with my corset as per her instructions and after the lacing and the sinching in I slipped on my dress only to discover that the corset made me TOO SMALL for my dress. Jacquie would have to take the dress IN like 4-5in! Needless to say I was grinning like a fool b/c as of a month ago I couldn't even close the damn contraption! She had me try on the dress again in my regular skivies (no foundation garmets, just plain bra and panties) and the dress is STILL too big! We made a follow up appt for yesterday with instructions to bring in strapless bra and spanx (what I wore the first time I saw her in June).

I arrive at her shop in the requested skivies and slip the dress on yet again and knowing its too big she goes to work pinning it in, she has to bring the dress IN  another 1.5-2in :-) She told me I can afford to drop another 5lbs before I shrink myself out of my dress without enough time to fix it. I go see her again in 2wks which will be my absolute last chance to see if everything went ok with the alteration. We leave 3wks after that, but as her schedule is beyond  full she said she has to be done with my dress by the 1st of Sept b/c she is jam packed with fall weddings and other events. The funny thing is she will be in HI the same time as me, arriving the day after our wedding lol we are going to dinner or something b/c the woman is just too awesome not to hangout with lol. Just wanted to share my happy news. This was the extra boost I needed to stay motivated! I just have to maintain until the wedding and then I can get back in the full swing of project "shrink me" lol. I told FI he's lucky to be locking me down before I go all super hot body on him lol his reply was "I better go buy some potato sacks for your new wardrobe" lmao, love this guy so much I'm gonna marry him hee!

Thanks for reading my mini novel!

  • @kwitherington: thanks bunches! I shall post a picture as soon as I get my dress :-)

@bblich02 (sorry about the novel, I am having an extra wordy day today lol): thanks! I had some perscription help from my doc b/c diabetes runs hardcore in my family and I was borderline so I had to drop some extra poundage quickly before my body staged a revolt. She gave me a 3mos Rx for phentremine (once in a lifetime Rx per doc), but I have only been taking it about 4 times a week for the last 2-3wks instead of everyday like the Rx says. I asked my doc about this and she said that was fine since I need to maintain right now instead of focusing on dropping the extra fluffiness.

The pill helps to curb appetite, but the real change and reason for the weight falling off (in my opinion) has been the about face in diet and exercise. I was never a chips and soda junk food junkie, more like "oh lets have Mexican food today" junk food junkie. I cut eating out all together for the first 30 days, added a whole lot of greenery and fruit to my diet and started exercising 30-45mins a day 6days/wk, cardio 4 days, weights 2 days.
An example of my food life (I don't measure anything btw): bfast 7am: 2.5-3handfuls of baby carrots to munch on the way to work (40min commute), snack 9am-12:30pmish: about 2-3cups (I think lol) of grapes and berries (my fav fruits), I eat lunch at around 2pmish b/c I'm not hungry until then, lunch is a green salad with carrots (cuz I love em), bell peppers, cucumber, sunflower seeds (occationally) with 1 squeezed lemon and a pinch of salt for dressing; dinner: small piece of chicken or fish, steamed veggies and about a cup or less of rice or beans; we can forget dessert: fat free jello pudding or berry jello :-). I have lost a nice 10lbs sine July 6th, but it would be a lot more if I was taking the Rx 7days a week.

I have no idea how many inches I've lost, personally I don't want to get stuck on numbers, it's a lifestyle change I'm focusing on and that helps me greatly to continue these changes for the long haul instead of celebrating a weightloss goal by pigging out, ass backwards I know lol. Hope some of that helps you!

  • Thanks so much!  It's in 6wks! Sept 20th in HI :-D we leave on Sept 17th :-D

This is the most progress I've made without being unhealthy and dieting. I just have changed what I eat and how much, I don't feel like I'm "dieting". With FI as my biggest cheerleader (and drill sergeant lol) exercising isn't as bad as I thought. I never WANT to do it, but as long as he gets me started it's not bad and even enjoyable. I love the exercise energy high, that is definitely worth it. FI always says "do this for you, not for me or anyone else, only you" and that makes me feel extra loved b/c he loves me as is, right this minute and isn't asking that I lose anything. He loved me at my heaviest and he loves me know. Best moment was last weekend when FI was taking a pic of me at the beach while picking shells: he says "wow babe, you look thinner, a lot thinner, go my hot mamas!" it's not like I was even dressed any kind of cute either, just t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes in a awkward half bending pose going for a shell lol my grin was brighter then the sun. This past week every time I don't feel like exercising I think about that. I want to lose the weight for myself, but looking sexy for him is a bonus. Best of luck to you in your wedding planning and healthy lifestyle changing :-) When is your big day?
