Is that a bad day???

Theres a place I really want to get married at but all the Saturdays in April are booked So I'm thinking the Friday April 1st. but is that bad?

It's like you could be saying your vows, but it be a joke....???? :(

    People get married on Fridays...and Wednesdays...and Mondays.

    There's no etiquette or firm rule that says weddings have to be on Saturdays. It's merely the most common day to host a wedding due to work schedules, people traveling, etc.

    Just make sure that you're okay with there being more of a chance of guests (specifically OOT'ers) not attending due to work obligations and committments of that nature. If this doesn't bother you, then go for it. :)

    I don't know.  You'll probably have to endure a few lame jokes from people who think they're hilarious, but if you can live with that, why not?

    The only way you would be making your vows a joke was if you yelled "April fools" at the end.  Look at it this way, people will remember your anniversary.

    It's only a big deal if you make it into a big deal.  My parents were married on Friday, the 13th.  People thought they were crazy and they said "so what?"  I would do it and not even think twice about it.

    I think it works if it fits your personalities.  If not, it would be kind of like a couple who had no interest in candy and dressing up getting married on Halloween.  Like, there's nothing really wrong with it, but why choose that date if you're not going to run with it?

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    My initial thought is "who cares" and what adult actually thinks about April Fool's Day, but everyone is different.  Is the month of April a mandate for you?  What about May, June or any other month?

    As a pp suggested, if it's going to bother you, I'd look for another day.  Good luck.

    I have a good friend and her parents were married on April 1. They joke that at least her dad can't forget! Other than that no one even blinks. If you want that day go for it!

    I don't know that it's a bad day, but I'd say you will have to really really trust your guests if you go through with it.  You might think people would rise above and recognize it's your day, but I can think of plenty of FI's friends who would be like "Come on, we HAVE to do something."
