Downtown Dallas Locations

Hi,

We are looking for an elegant location in Downtown Dallas to have both our wedding ceremony and reception. We are looking at having 175-200 guests. We are open to places with an outdoor ceremony spot, but would like to be sure there is a back-up plan just in case ;)

Any Suggestions?

Thanks!
-Crystal

Well, I don't know your budget so I will just list some--but most of these would definitely be on the higher end.  I'm only listing ones with outdoor options that fit your guest size.

Arlington Hall at Lee Park (not downtown proper but close)
    Aldredge House
    Arts District Banquet Facility
    Crow Collection of Asian Art
    Dallas Museum of Art
    Marie Gabrielle
    Ritz-Carlton
    The Crescent
    Filter Building at White Rock
    Hickory Street Annex
    Third Space
    Texas Discovery Gardens
    Marc Events

There is also the Old Red Museum, The Joule, The Adolphus, The Aborteum (its close to downtown), The Mansion on Turtle Creek, the Fairmont Hotel, the Melrose Hotel, the W Hotel, The Nasher Scultpure Garden.

I'm sure there are a lot more too.

I didn't list any of those because they are too small for her guest list and/or don't have the outdoor ceremony space she is looking for.  For instance, my venue, the Melrose, is way too small.  Adolphus no outdoor, Mansion has outdoor but too small, etc.  You have to have membership privileges to rent the Nasher but that would be an option.  And the Arborteum is beautiful, but not downtown.

I looked at it.  It is right door to my husband's old condo (and where I work) and we would see weddings there all the time.  I love it but it was a little out of our budget so we ruled it out.

I wouldn't call it "elegant" but 7 Senses is SO cool--very chic and trendy. I would check it out just for heck of it. It isn't exactly downtown, but it's pretty darn close.

Also, check out the Dallas City Club

Stephiehall - Wow ok not sure what to say.

I was just throwing out suggestions to the OP. Yes I know the Arborteum is not downtown that's why I put its close and she said she was open to outdoor locations but didn't say that was a must.  The Nasher memberships start at $75, if you want your wedding there, its really not that much.

But anyways, I think I'll just leave this tread now.

Ewinkler, sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude--I was just stating why I didn't list those.  I meant no harm, really. I checked out many of those myself (including the Nasher which I remember being a lot more expensive but maybe I'm mistaken).  I had a similar guest size as the OP (at least to start) and also wanted outdoor ceremony downtown so I just listed the ones I knew would work.

    Anyway, no offense meant.

I've been to a wedding at Arlington Hall and it was beautiful! The couple had the ceremony on the lawn (just be careful what time the ceremony is at, our eyes were in the sun most of it) and the reception inside. I don't know how it is price wise, but like I said, it was beautiful!
