Advice bucuti Tara or sandals

Hi my FI and I are having are unsure where we want to go for our HM. We are planning on taking a 7 night cruise to a few islands in addition we would like to stay at least 5 nights in either Aruba or st Lucia. We would like to stay in either bucuti Tara suites in Aruba or sandals la Toc in St. Lucia. Does anyone have any advice or opinions on either of these? Any information is greatly appreciated.

Re: Advice bucuti Tara or sandals

  • I would imagine you would get more for your money Bucuti, meaning better room and longer stay for less. If it were me, I'd prefer staying in St. Lucia but a resort more like Bucuti. Aruba and St. Lucia are very different islands, though. What type of experience are you looking for? What is your budget? There are a couple of nice resorts in St. Lucia that have all inclusive adders, like Ti Kaye, Ladera, or Calabash Cove. They are more boutique than Sandals.

  • I stayed at Bucuti for our honeymoon last year. Hands down, I'd recommend that hotel if you're going to Aruba. But I agree with PP that Aruba and St. Lucia are really two complete different island with different things to offer. What are you looking to get out of this part of your vacation?

  • H and I have been to Bucuti's Tara Beach Suites three times, including our honeymoon in 2011.  The resort is beautiful; the staff is genuinely friendly and always helpful.  It is an amazing experience.

I've been to St. Lucia (ages ago) and cannot remember where I stayed.  From what I've read about Sanals resorts (created and marketed for the masses), I don't think I would like it.  The island is lovely though.
