Best Wedding Consultant??

Hi,

I am getting married in July 2012 and I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on a great wedding planner. I am looking for someone like David Tutera ( My Fair Wedding WeTv) but not as expensive. I know I can't find someone as good as him in Columbus, but is there anyone who is even close? I like the way he designs the theme, helps pick out the bridesmaid dresses, and etc. He goes with the bride to the florist, bakery, and venue. To me THAT's a full service wedding planner.

I have contacted at least 10 - 20 wedding planners and it is so hard to get in contact with them. All of them seem to be small businesses who don't have a receptionist or even a virtual assistant. You send an email and 3 days later you have no response from almost 2/3rds of them. For some it has been over 1 week.

I just send a simple email requesting a consultation with them. I am new to this, but I hope this isn't the norm. Are we just not that important? I have contacted wedding consultants who have websites, are members of the OBC or the CBC,  and have at least 4 years experience in the business.  I have contacted people who have offices downtown off High Street and are featured on the news and everything.

Can someone please recommend a full service wedding provider who also designs a theme and the decor. Someone who is customer service oriented.

Thanks.

Have you already tried Calloway Events? She seemed good when I worked with her last year, but I wasn't the bride, so I can't help you from that stand-point.

You should definitely give Heather at Every Event Elegant a shot.  She has been AMAZING!

Ok im23.... I've got a GREAT 'sort of' answer for you!!
You want someone with David Tutera's knack for design - you need to contact Bart at Flourish Bespoke Floral and Event Styling.

Bart is amazing!  We can take a plain boring ballroom, then take your original ideas and change them into something amazing!!

The only bad thing.... is that he isn't a planner.  So he won't be able to bring you all the vendors you need.  But once you have them, he can make them all work together for you.

    I hope this helps!

Thank you everyone for the help. I will take a look at each vendor you suggested. I also just bought David's Book "The Big White Book of Weddings: A How-to Guide for the Savvy, Stylish Bride" If I wind up not finding anyone I may have to do it myself and just hire a day of coordinator.

Joie De Vivre got back with me with a phone call the same day.  If I had the money, I would use her.  I still might.

I am using Emilie Duncan. She has two interns right now that are helping with events and responding to emails, but I always get a response within the day. I interviewed with Bliss and Emilie and found similar packages at a lower price with Emilie. She has been amazing!

I would love a recommendation on this as well. I am newly engaged (and new to The Knot) and this is my second marriage. (I eloped the first time, so I missed out on my dream day). I am not going to do that again...and I want to make sure I don't miss a detail! I have researched online quite a bit (I am checking out all of the 2011 Best of Planners) and visited a cute wedding planning gallery that was next door to the jeweler where we purchased my ring. They were super helpful and their pricing was really good.... Bendora Wedding Gallery? I just want to make sure I do my homework before I choose! I am literally just engaged (2 weeks ago) and want to start off on the right foot! Has anyone worked with them????

Thanks for the help and referrals, I plan on checking out these other suggestions as well!

Baldwin, there was a thread about a month or two ago about Bendora. Someone else had heard of them and was asking about their reputation. I don't know if it would be much help, but you may want to search "Bendora" and it should come up. I can't remember if people said it was much help or not.

No problem! I suck at linking to the different threads, so hopefully you can find it better than I can lol
