Bridal Shower!!

Currently i'm working & extremely bored!! I'm training a new girl, so all i'm doing is sitting back and letting her do everything.

I just wanted to see who has had their bridal shower yet.
 How was it?
 What was the best/worst part of it?

I haven't had mine yet but i'm expecting it to be right around the corner because my FI is so excited to eat all the "amazing food" that is going to be there. Is it normal that the FI goes to the bridal shower? I just can't think of any othere way i'll get to the bridal shower, if anyone else were to take me (FI mom, my mom, my sister) I think I would know where I was going because it's not normal for someone else to drive me somewhere besides the FI... LOL!Tongue out

    I have!! I would say the best part was of course, opening the gifts! Haha!! Well I loved the food too. It was a bit awkward for me because I didn't really know any of those people- it was hosted by FMIL's friends.

    I'm having another one hosted by my family and BMs- THAT one should be a ton of fun! It'll be on next Saturday. Fiesta theme! Tacos! YAY!!

    Usually the men do not go to the showers. It's usually all ladies. We had a coed one the other day though since we were combining it with FI's cousin, that was fun too. FI would never be caught being the only male at the shower :)

    I have! Overall I had a great time. I'm the opposite of mekiakoo though--opening presents was the worst part for me. Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing what everyone got me and I appreciate all of the generosity, but it was just so AWKWARD. I hate being the center of attention and having 50+ pairs of eyes staring at me for 1.5 hours in almost silence..it was uncomfortable.


    The best part was the food, the company, and seeing all of the little details that my mom put together. She really did an amazing job decorating, and she went crazy with favors lol She had a huge candy bar, gave out flowers, notepads/pens, and gift baskets to every single person there. Everyone was so surprised and I couldn't believe how much effort she put into it to make it perfect for me.


    You will have a blast at yours (:

    ETA: My FI didn't go with me but he did show up at the end to say hi to everyone and help pack the cars!

    My FI came to both showers. He was the only male at his family sides shower, and at mine it was him and my Dad. He didn't seem to mind. All the showers I've gone to, the FI was always there. Personally, I think it's nice so he can be there to chat and thank everyone.

    Check and see if the shower is coed, maybe it is?? I'm sure your FI wouldn't want to be the only male though!

    Thanks! I had it up in the air to cut him off from the showers haha! But now that I hear from someone else that it's fine, i definately want him by my side.     FWIW, my FI didn't go to mine and I have never been to one where he did, other than popping in at the end. I think it's nice to have it just a girls thing. But that's my preference, if you prefer to have him there apparently some ppl do that, too.

    I have had two showers and will have another one next weekend.  We had a couple's shower which was small with about a dozen of our good friends, and my aunt and cousin threw an beautiful shower in my hometown.  One of my bridesmaids and another lady at our church is throwing one for our church family and FI's side of the family next weekend.

    The only one the FI went to was the couple's.  I was completely overwhelmed - in a positive way - with both showers  - with how thoughful and beautfiul everything was to how generous the gifts were.  A lot of ladies who couldn't attend had sent gifts....I was completely overwhelmed.  That was the best part.

    I had two showers. FI came to one. It was co-ed, actually families, with my side of the family. It was really more like a family BBQ except there were presents! The second one, for friends and FI's family, he didn't come to. He wasn't even in the area that day, he had a show about three hours away. That one was all women and he would have been really bored. My favorite part was just seeing everyone and hanging out with my friends.
