Magnolia Flowers?

Has anyone ever done, seen, or heard of using silk magnolia flowers for a wedding?
We're going for a southern/elegant theme, and I just love the look of those blooms. What other decorations or colors do ya'll think would complement them?

    Yup, anyone can just about do any flower in silk.  Save on Crafts has some...love their site:

    Sure I've heard of it.  Magnolia blooms are the epitomy of timeless, Southern elegance, and would be very beautiful for your wedding.  Gardenias and camelias are also of a similar look.

    But I'm a "grits" girl, and might be a little biased, lol.

    Oh, some colors that would compliment them?  Maybe a soft, muted pinks/mauve, blush (pale peachy pink), greens, and a touch of antique lavender.  With accents of metallic gold and or antique silver in some of the accessories. 

    Maybe some shades of rustic pink and green hydrangeas, spray roses, callas, or alstromerias to go with the magnolia blooms.  With a touch of lavender limonium and Queen Anne's lace as filler flowers. 

    Some other "southern" elements:  antique silver tussy mussies, antique brooches or cameos, fans, handkerchiefs, hair combs or a flower in the hair, silver candelabra, etc...

    @ meredythhope - are you using magnolia flowers for your wedding?  I saw a picture of a magnolia centerpiece and thought it was beautiful, perfect for the look i was going for.  Just wondering if you found any nice looking artificial magnolias or if you ended up going with something else.

    Hello Adam,

    Thank you for making our day extra special. When we I first walked into the hall we were amazed at how beautiful it all looked.We especially loved the stage. It looked great in the pictures but to see it in our wedding looking that beautiful made our day extra special. The centerpieces were gorgeous and the pattern with the stands was extra unique.     The people at Magnolia Flowers are not only pleasant and personable but they are flexible and will accommodate your every wish. I worked with the Adam until we had exactly what I had envisioned for my wedding floral. I highly recommend this florist and would definitely use them again. If you know what you want, they will deliver it.
