HoneyMoon Booked - Mediterranean Cruise

We just booked our Mediterranean Cruise with Norwegian on the EPIC.  We will be cruising from October 10-17.  Going to Italy, France and Spain.  Has anyone been on this cruise?  Can anyone give me any advice?  I guess it will be too cool to use the pool during October.  I have never been to Europe so I don't know what to expect.  I have been on a cruise before though, so I'm excited about that.  We are also staying an extra night in Rome before we set sail and an extra night after.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  My fairy tale is coming true....hehe  THANKS!

    I did not take that exact cruise but I did go on the Norwegian Gem 2 years ago which left from Barcelona and stopped in Malta, Naples, Rome, Florence and Cannes, France.  We went in late September and the weather was beautiful -- we were able to use the pool and even laid on the beach in Cannes.  The weather was perfect for sightseeing.  We had a mini-suite with a balcony and it was so nice to be able to come back to our room each day and have a drink or 2 on our balcony before heading to dinner.

    I've been on many cruises before and I would not recommend using the ship sponsored excursions.  They are very expensive and feel like a cattle call getting on and off buses all the time.  I found a great tour company in Italy that I booked tours for all 3 of our Italy ports and they were amazing.  I also checked out message boards on www.cruisecritic.com and was able to hook up with 4 other people on our ship to bring the costs down but they will do tours for just the 2 of you if that's what you prefer.
