Family As the Officiant?

My fiance' and I would love to have his uncle marry us. What I'm having trouble with is finding out what has to be done in order for this to happen. We're not getting married until 08/10/13, but I don't know how long it will take for him to get a license to marry us. Any Ideas?

Re: Family As the Officiant?

  • One of the easiest ways to find out the requirements is to just call the clerks office for the courthouse in the county/city youre getting married. They were pretty helpful in telling me what qualifications were needed. Id at least start there
  • I also live in Missouri.  I looked up the information on line and as long as they are ordained than it shouldn't be a problem.  You can go to Universal Life Church and they will ordaine someone for free after that person fills out the information.  Just have your fiance's uncle read the information under the wedsite and I would have him do it sooner than later so that you can go to the county you are being married in and see if there is anything in particular he needs.
