Diners, Driveins, & Dives

Featured Lexington over the weekend (for the Parkette) and last night (for JJ Brewsters?).  I've been to the Parkette a bunch over the course of my life, but I've never heard of the second one, and I didn't recognize any of the landmarks.  Anybody been there?  It's supposed to be Western Kentucky BBQ, by a family from Eddyville.

I've been to parkette a lot too. I saw on their sign that they were being featured, but I was out of town and didn't get to watch. I think the new owners did pretty good with updating it, but still keeping the older feel of it.  I have never heard of the other one either.  I may have to check it out someday if I am ever over that way.

I've lived here for almost 8 years, and I'm originally from Western Kentucky, and I had never heard of JJ McBrewsters. It's somewhere on Clay's Mill. I'm wondering if it's in that shopping center at Clays Mill and Keithshire.

They also went to Wallace Station, just outside of Lexington, in Versailles. It's definitely worth checking out, if you haven't been there.

I love Wallace Station.  It's a great stop if you're touring around the horse farms, especially.

I love JJ McBrewsters. It has recently become my favorite place. I am even considering getting the m to cater for the wedding! Their BBQ is very high quality. I have never gotten an fat or gristle in my food and they have four sauces available to satisfy different preferences. Price is very reasonable- $9.99 for a pulled pork plate that includes two sides and a corn muffin. My favorite sides are their mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.
