Re: Morning!!

  • Afternoon!  I haven't been on here in a while, hope everybody's doing well and that the spring brides are getting excited!  Hard to believe that was me one short year ago...

We're planning a trip to Charleston in early March because we've never been and I'm getting really excited!  Does anybody have any recommendations?  We're staying in a B&B off Market Street and will be walking since we won't have a car.

I think I'm addicted to salsa.  The food, not the dance.

I made the pioneer woman's restaurant style salsa recipe (clicky) for Sunday (so easy, but it makes a ton).  And I can not stop eating it.

I even went to Dos Taquitos (Centro) for lunch today just so I could get more salsa.

There are an excessive number of parentheses in this post.
  • I haven't been to Charleston in a LONG time, but when we did go (when I like like 12) we went to the Battleship and toured it. I remember that being a blast. We'd like to go back soon. I bet you'll have a great time and March should give you wonderful weather :)

Share some pictures when you get back ;)

Mary. . .that right there is why I need a food processor. Ugh. Our blender died like 6 months ago and it hasnt been replaced and weve never had a processor. We've been looking into getting either just a blender, or a combo of the two. Have any recommendations?

And thanks, now I want mexican for dinner! We went to a new place (for us) the other week in Holly Springs off 55. Soooo good! I can't remember the name though.

We have a humongous Cuisinart (like 14 cup) that I got off of RueLaLa and I adore it.  I want a second bowl, but other than that it's perfect.

ETA: I'm talking about food processor, not blender.  I've never owned a blender, so I'm not any help with that.
  • I'm going to the UNC game tonight!! I'm finishing up my last year in grad school here and haven't ever gotten the lottery before. I'm so excited! other than that...just loving the newlywed life :)

    I looooove Charleston!

<div>If you're seafood people, go eat at Hyman's... and prepared to be stuffed, I'd wear something loose :)</div><div>If you're beer people, check out South End Brewery, the food is just OK, but they brew several beers in house and they're all pretty good!</div><div>
</div><div>The USS Yorktown is at Patriot's Point and is pretty cool, from Market you'd have to get a cab because it is across the harbor.  I also enjoy the aquarium there, it only takes about 2 hours to get through.</div><div>
</div><div>If the weather is nice, the rooftop bar at the Vendue Inn is a great place to have a drink.  In the warmer months, there's usually live music... not sure about March.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, since you're staying downtown, I'd get up and get out to the open air market one morning, it starts at the interesection of Market and Meeting.</div>
  • I love Charleston!!! Thats where my FI proposed.  We had dinner at Fleet Landing and it was nice.  I loved the Market...you have to go there!  Here are a few suggestions for bars...The gin mill is fun for pre-prohibition drinks but is a little pricey, then there's the blind tiger that has delicious food and a nice beer garden that is shaded. The rooftop bar at the library where you can watch the sun set, and there is a ferry out to the fort thing that is nice.  Hope this helps!

    Have fun!
