Proper Invite Wording

My parents are going to help by paying for the catering and a few other things. My FI and I will be paying for everything else our selves. His parents have made it very clear that they will not be paying for anything. (They didn't help any of his siblings and wont help us) They did say that they will help us decorate, make anything, cook....anything we may need, just not monetary.

Proper invite wording?? (both sets of parents are married)

    If no one will be hurt to note have their names specifically mentioned I would just go with

    Together with their parents,
     Your name & his name

    Who is hosting? What do you want? Do you parents want to be named specifically? Do his parents? You can easily use the catch all "together with their families" or do the traditional invitation with the bride's parents on top. You can also add the groom's parents to the top of the invitation, after your parents, or under the groom's name. Really you can probably do whatever you want, it just depends on who is hosting and who cares about having their name on the invitation.

    Either Together with their families, or you could have your parents' names at the top, and then list your FI as the son of his parents down below.

    Ditto Mica.  That's how I did it the first time, that's how I'm doing it this time, and we're paying for everything ourselves.

    Ours look like mica's, but with no son of line. My parents are the sole hosts, so we used the traditional wording. If you want more examples, Crane's has an online version of their blue book- I am on my phone so I can't give you the link, but it should come right up if you google "crane's etiquette"
