Planning lull

I feel like I'm at a bit of a break in wedding planning. Everything that is "important" or "time sensitive" has now been booked. Now, it is onto details that don't need to be made until closer to the actual wedding date.

I will talk to my bridesmaids about ordering their dresses in the next month or so, but beyond that, it has been pretty quiet with planning for me for a while. 

How's everyone else doing?

    Everything is quiet on this end too. I've been trying to design my invites but photoshop is kicking my butt.

    Stina, I'm impressed that you're making your own invites! I wish I was computer savvy. Things are pretty quiet over here too, but it's mostly because I'm having trouble comitting to a photographer.

    Is it bad to get ahead?  I blocked hotel rooms yesterday and we are finalizing the limos in two weeks, just need FI to decide between two limos or a bus, the price is about the same.  I guess I skipped ahead on the to do list, but we still have to get newspaper announcements done and I need to get my dress figured out ha ha.

    I am actually calling the hotels this week to see what one is cheaper and how they do their blocks. Unfortunately with us being right by Lambeau Field, rates are not guarenteed and if there is a home game that weekend, the rates will double. I didn't know they did that until FI's sister had to block her hotel and theirs was during Packer season too.

    I've only done the venue and photographer. I'm going wedding dress shopping on Friday with my mom and hope to get a dress then. We're still waiting on invite lists from both sets of parents to begin looking at caterers. Our engagement photos are in February, so we're sending out save the dates in March... plenty of time left for that. Until I know how many people we're looking to invite, I'm kind of in a holding pattern.

    I'm kind of there too, but we need to book our DJ & photographer still. We have the ceremony & reception venue, the caterer (had to go with them, due to our reception venue), I bought my dress just before Christmas(!!!) and our guest list is pretty finalized. I've started gathering addresses for the save-the-dates and sent my FH a couple of different ideas for them. So once he decides on one, we can order them and, I know this is crazy, but I think I'm going to hand address them all.... I mean, we're not going to send them out until March, and if I get them in the next two weeks, that gives me a month or so to get them all done. We can't decide on the invitations, though... Any suggestions?

    I guess I need to call nearby hotels pretty soon & we need to work on our registry more... if only we lived in the same state.

    I am...drained.  Holidays, vacation, work stress and all remaining moments spent figuring out whether or not I can make the invitations I want and still have sanity has exhausted me.

    We still need a DJ but the site, photographer, cake, dress and day of beauty have all been done.

    I will be working on ordering the STD stuff, working thru the invitation logistics, DJ all this month.
    S'mores. Just S'mores please.

    I'm just revving up again with the wedding planning.

    Before the holidays we had already booked our venue, caterer and photographer and had a start on DJs and Florists.  Met with a few over the holidays as well as started dress shopping and finalized our wedding party.

    So I guess now it's just seeing a few more DJs and Florists before picking one (goal is by the end of the month if not sooner).  Then we have our caterer tasting mid-month and hopefully our engagement photo session before the end of the month.

    I think we are going at a decent pace, at least I hope so!  :-)

    I'm in somewhat of a lull too. We have the venue ceremony and reception is in the same place, catering comes with the venue, plus a day of coordinator, photographer, and I bought my dress in November. I'm currently researching affordable honeymoon options in Maui and I think that will be the next thing booked. I'm still on the fence of whether or not we even need a DJ, or just do a playlist on my iPod. I don't think we want to do all those introductions, special dances, etc, so it might not be necessary to have one. Also, the venue itself is very beautiful inside and out so I don't think I want to pay for center pieces. I'm thinking a bouquet for me by a florist and just buying sunflowers and making bouquets with those for my BMs. My friend just told me DIY invites are on clearance at Michael's so I think I will check that out this weekend. Not sure when to start looking at officiants....we just want a JOP and we are getting married in a Thursday so I feel like we still have a lot of time. ETA apologies for the lack of parentheses, for some reason they don't show up when I'm on my phone

    I also am all about getting ahead.  My STDs just came yesterday.  I already booked my limo. I need to call this week about the hotels. I have been meaning to do this for the past couple of weeks.  My girls have picked out their dresses.  I have been looking around at invitations jsut to get an idea what is out there. There are so many different types!  I am also signing my contract with my makeup artist this week.
