Welcome Bag ideas

Here are the items we put in the Welcome Bags for my daughter and son-in-law's wedding on 6/24/12. We gave out the welcome bags (one per family/couple or individual and one for each person in the wedding) at the welcome dinner the evening before the wedding. The kettle corn (one-10 oz. bag per welcome bag) is made by a family in Kitty Hawk. It is delicious! We used the small bottles of water and include enough water and snacks for each member of the family in each bag. The Outer Banks Visitor Center will put together information packets if you give them a two week notice. We bought the bags at the visitor center (they have other colors).

Re: Welcome Bag ideas

  • Those are great welcome bags!  Good to know about the Visitor's Center too.  Thanks!
  • We used the OBX kettle corn in our welcome bags as well.  My guests raved about it for weeks, and I even had to stop on the way out to buy 3 more large bags to take home for my best friend and ourselves.  These turned out great.

  • Thanks for the head's up about the visitor center! We're going to make welcome bags for everyone in the wedding party and our families. Where do you get the kettle corn? I LOVE me some kettle corn!!! We're thinking about doing our welcome bags in little plastic beach buckets since it's an oceanfront ceremony...

  • Thanks! CourtaniaLynn...obxkettlecorn.com is the website for the kettle corn. They list the shops that sell the kettle corn. I made arrangements over the phone to purchase the kettle corn for the welcome bags. I like your beach bucket idea!
