Looking for a DJ

Hey everyone! I am new to The Knot as I recently got engaged on Memorial Day.

My fiance and I are getting married 10/15/2011 at Church Landing in Meredith. Next I am looking for a DJ & am hoping I could get some recommendations!

Thanks in advance!!

    Congratulations on your engagement!

I highly recommend George Parker.  We used him for our wedding for live classical guitar during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and then for his DJ services.  He is polite, professional, and very accomodating.

Congratulations! How exciting for you! I'm using DJ Tim Patoine from A Good Time DJs. He actually DJ'd for my uncles wedding at the Margate Resort  in 2007 and he did an awesome job. I'm soooooooo picky about DJs. I love to dance, so I want someone who's going to get people on the dance floor and keep them there. No hokey stuff. I'm getting married on Lake Winnipesaukee as well. Tim used to be based out of Concord, although I'm not sure about that anymore. I was not charged a travel fee for him to head to the Lakes Region.

Thank you all for the responses!

DHdaydream, I actually looked at DJ Billy Rears before as I had heard good things about him. I just went ahead and e-mailed the company to find out if he is available and when we can meet with him.

    Thanks again everyone :)

Congratulations!! We are having our reception at Church Landing next Saturday! Isn't it gorgeous? Who are you working with there? We've had such a great experience working with Hilary.

We are also working with DJ Dave Lynch. He's been incredibly helpful!

Congratulations! We're using Get Down Tonight Entertainment for our DJ. They have a good size group of DJ's you can choose from.

    Hey ladyd!

No problem! I hope it works out for you! Also, at the time we booked him Main Event offered us a discount on his services.  Might be worth asking about! It saved us about $180.

Also, Main Event does Meet the DJ nights which are great! You get to meet the DJ's see the equipment, and they gave us some great wedding worksheets so we could start picking the songs we want.

    Have fun!

We're using Drew Rissler from "Get Down Tonight Entertainment".  Met him at two bridal shows...he's charming.

Ladies - Thanks for all of your feedback. Getting married in Winnipesaukee in July 2011. FI and I live in Arkansas right now, so selecting vendors has been tricky.
