Getting from hotel to ceremony site??

Hi everyone.  The hotel where the bridal party will be getting ready is about 30 minutes from the ceremony site (Coral Gables Hyatt to Deering Estate).  I will be going to the venue in an antique RR with my dad.  I'm wondering if I need to arrange transportation for the bridal party to get to and from the venue/reception area as well or if I should just have them all drive each other.

Re: Getting from hotel to ceremony site??

  • If you provide transportation from the hotel to the estate, just remember, all the BMs cars will be at the hotel 30 minutes away and will need transportation back to get their cars after.

  • Agree with what Lois Lane said. You can't get them there and then not get them back... We opted to rent a shuttle for both ways, for bridal party and guest, but that might be an added expense that you don't want to worry about.

  • I got a shuttle to take them there and back. I think it depends on your crowd - I knew I did not want anyone to even think of driving because they will have drank too much. If it's in the budget I think it's nice to do

I'd say it's worth the splurge to get then to and from the ceremony site safely. IMO I think with such a long distance between the 2 places it's definitely a very nice gesture.
Is your reception also at Deering? You probably don't want your bridal party driving back to the hotel 30 minutes away after they've been drinking. And at the same time, (if you're serving alcohol) you probably don't want them to have to decide amongst themselves who will be the DD. :)

  • Thanks girls...I was afraid you were all going to say that. I think it would be great to have, but at this point everything is over budget...for those of you that have rented shuttles, where did you rent from and what am I looking at spending? Thanks!

We're also providing transportation because our bridal party and all of our OOT guests are staying in South Beach and none of them have cars. We're getting a 10 passenger limo for the bridal party to get to the DE and are using Jesse's Limousine. The limo costs $100 for one way. For the way back after the reception, our bridal party can hop on the shuttles with the rest of our guests.
  • Priya, who are you using for your shuttles?
