Wedding Planning Timeline

Hello-
I'm getting married September 15, 2012 in Rye, NY and I am looking for a wedding planning timeline.  I realize that a lot of websites offer these, but I was looking for something that may be a bit more specific towards my location and date.  The tri-state area is very busy for weddings and I know that my date is one of the most popular times.  Does anyone have a timeline, or know of where I could get one?

Thanks!
Caitlin

I dont have a timeline for you but I do have a recommendation on a wedding photographer. My sister and best friend just used antiquehoney.com (you can also find them on facebook). I was in both weddings and the photographer was very easy to get along with (I was in both weddings). She wasn't in our faces and half the time we didn't even realize was was there taking pictures. When my sister and friend got back the prof's everyone was blown away. She paid attention to every detail and the vintage style pictures are gorgeous. Antiquehoney also has a photo booth called the BEE booth that was a huge hit at my friends weeding. All the guest were using the BEE booth. You will not be disappointed.

I used the timelines as guidlines and just checked them off as I went.  I was engaged with about 17 months to go- but most said to book a reception site around 12 months.  I booked it about 16 months.  Then moved to photographer around 15, dj14, florist 12... etc. Basically, I took whatever was next on the pre-made timeline, and started working on it.  Good luck!!!

I would recommend booking as early as you can unless you have circumstances that will prevent you from making decisions for a while.  I got engaged in Aug 2010 and started meeting with venues in Sept 2010 for an Oct 2011 wedding and I was shocked to find that some places were already completed booked for October 13 months in advance.  I also started contacting vendors in Sept 2010 and the first officiant I contacted was already booked, and one DJ and one Photog that I talked to had someone else with our date already talking to them.

You will still be able to find venues/vendors if you wait, but you may miss out on your first choice in some instances.
