Nightly Chit Chat

Rants, Vents, Confessions, AW? Anyone got anything?

I'm at work for another hour which kind of sucks (just because it's not a great area of town and it's super dark, with a super dark parking lot so it freaks me out to be here alone), but I'll manage!! I feel like I've been here forever!!  H finally caved and said I can get whatever bedding I want for our apt!!! I WINNNN!!!!!! and I've been working on a spreadsheet for my boss and I figured out all the formulas and stuff by myself!! Go Me!!!

here are links to the bedding I've picked out:
Clicky <This one in Turquoise
Clicky <This one in Grey (It's my favorite for obvious reasons)
Clicky <This one in either Heather Grey or New Blue
I figure since H is being so sweet about it all, I'd give him some options!!

Re: Nightly Chit Chat

  • Oh those are so beautiful Sami! I wish H could let me get something like that, but he doesn't want anything "too girly." I really like the designs of 2 and 3, but I love looking at the heather gray color,I love it when things just pop out to my eyes and the light gray number 2 doesn't do that.

Not much is going on here, H and I are on the couch watching a rerun of Pawn Stars, we're waiting around for the new episodes to start which isn't until 10. I'm still really bummed out about the natural disaster that happened in the Philippines, it's just so sad especially with Christmas right around the corner...
  • I know! That is so sad!! I'm contemplating what I want to pick up on my way home for dinner.. Part of me wants sushi again!! haha..  Plus I HAVE to finish my Christmas Shopping like tonight!!  Most of it will be online just a few more little things I need to order.  My dad and I are going shopping tomorrow for my mom since it's my only day off for the rest of the week.

  • Oooh have sushi!! Eat some for me too! Hehe. I had leftover Chinese from last night, bad I know, but I decided not to cook anymore until we leave on Wednesday. We always have leftovers and I didn't want any for when we leave.

You're not done yet? At least most of it will be online but I bet the stores will be crazy tomorrow! I only have a few more presents to wrap up. H and I are waiting on all our presents from his family, we were hoping they would get here before we leave  but it's looking like we'll have to wait to open them when we get back. Although I have like 4 presents upstairs from the ILs! I want to open them already but H won't let me since he won't have any! haha
  • I'm sad. My heart breaks for some of my students who's parents can't afford Christmas gifts. I have this student and had his brother last year. Girls, they are the sweetest, most respectful, kindest kids in the world. For exampl, I bought a fund raiser food for the older brother who I had last year. I kept forgetting to bring in my check book. The younger brother, who is in my class now, freaking bought it for me... Out of his savings account and REFUSES to let me give him money. He is 10!!!! Not to mention single amazing mom. She cooked me lunch Friday and hugs me each time she sees me. She is one of those parents who is so thankful for teachers. Anyway, our counselors send home a survey to see if some parents need christmastime help. They say what their kids need, clothes, toys, books, etc. well, their paper came back... And they didn't ask for toys. They asked for clothes. That's all they want. Simple clothing. I bawled my eyes out. They put all these ornaments on a tree and people can take them off to buy them stuff. So I went to old navy and bought 4 tshirts, a sweat shirt, a pair of jeans, and a hoodie. Then I thought eff this. Kids need a toy too. So I went to 5 below and bought 12 different books, toys, games. Each brother will have 4 gifts. This stuff depresses me.

  • I'm here! I'm having an awesome day. I got the call that my dress is in! I'm so freaking excited lol. I'm either going Friday or Tuesday to try it on and get alterations started. They said alterations are usually done 2 months ahead of time but I have bridal portraits a month before and all I need is cups sewn in and the bustle so I can get those done any time. My mom's checking her work schedule and she may have Tuesday off. If she does I'll go then if not I'll go Friday with my two triplet sisters (my maids of honor).

And Sami love the gray one! We have white bedding with purple and gray flowers. I want a black, white, and purple bedroom. Because of the cats (one's black) FI will not allow white bedding again so we put a gray one on the registry (Kohls Vera Wang) and we're doing black and purple pillows
  • Sami, H would never let me pick anything out girly. Luckily, my mom and sister ended up buying bedding for me and we both love it. They picked it out without our input, but my sister knew what we were looking at it, and she walked into Bed Bath and Beyond and saw it and bought it. I'll try to find a link to it.

H's surround sound came in today so he hooked that up. He's happy with it. I did good. I also surprised him when he came home with the cologne, and a bottle of rum that he wanted. I win for awesome wife award this weekend.

We leave for Fla this week, I can't wait. I'm going to spend Thursday baking cookies. I took the day off, just because haha.

You are amazing. I wish more kids were kind like that
  • Sami, I LOOOOOVE the first and last bedspreads, both in blue tones!  Maybe gray.  But awesome!  I'm going to need your help to decorate when we move after we get married!!!

I also have an idea - since I'm home alone this week, Sami, why don't we have a dinner date tomorrow night?  We can Skype and finally chat face-to-face!!!  I'm nervous and giddy, like a teenage girl on a first date.

Hike, you're amazing.  Seriously, amazing.  If you email me your address, I'll send you a gift card for Target or Toys 'r Us or something so you can get them something else.  Kids without gifts break my heart.

  • Zims- I wish I could introduce you all to this kid and his brothers. When I think the world is shitty, they restore my faith. Cal- you are so sweet. Don't worry about it though. I work with the most amazing staff. The ornaments on the tree for all the kids will be taken by tomorrow morning. Plus, if they aren't taken, my principal buys the stuff with her own money. The best part of this family is those 3 boys love the shiit out of their mom. They are so good to her and she definitely got lucky with that!

  • Hike - I further want to point out that principle who judged you for not working at a Title One school can shove it.

  • Hey ladies!

I am here for a few minutes.  FI and his brother just left but will be back on Thursday- I'm spoiled this week! FI and I spent the weekend packing stuff at my apartment- I'm almost all moved out! Such a bittersweet feeling to end that chapter of my life and move in with my parents until we're married- don't get me wrong, I'm excited as heck- but I have a feeling I'll miss my own space... and I loved my apartment!

We did registry stuff, which was good. We finished up the Christmas stuff we had to do.

Someone worked for me today so I don't go to work until Thurs/Fri (yay!)....

    2 things stink:

    1) FI's ex-gf is trying to see him. Ugh. Long story, but they were together off/on for 5 years. She wouldn't move to live closer to him even though they discussed marriage. NOW she just up and moves to where he is, in the same city, from all the way across the country? She didn't do the navy well- broke up with him on every deployment they were together. Well she's being all passive-aggressive and somehow got the guy that FI rents part of his house to to invite her over for dinner tomorrow when he's home. I feel bad for FI- he doesn't want to see her. He's going to go out to a movie and dinner with his brother who is visiting so that he won't be there, but he doesn't want her to keep trying to see him, ya know? He doesn't even want to talk to her to tell her to bug off (again).

    2) Just went to my dear friend's memorial service for her 3 day old baby that passed away. So sad.

<div>it's devastating. She was a week late, they induced her and he went into distress. She had to have an emergency C-section and there were complications for her and baby that meant baby ended up on life support and she wasn't well enough to see him for a few days.... the doctors told them on the 3rd day of his life that he would never be able to talk or walk or function on his own off of life support :( They made the right decision to withdraw it, but it's so devastating for them.... their first child.</div>

  • Wow. That's such a horrific thing

  • Yikes, I'm so sorry!  Fire, that's really a bummer.  Your friend must be devastated.  I hope that she'll be strong enough to try again to be a mother before too long.  Poor thing!

  • I'm a little late in joining this, but I just wanted to say hi everybody! I made my first Pinterest-inspired dinner tonight and it was so delicious! Other than that, I've just been studying and reading all afternoon since I got home. The hospital is depressing me this week... I don't know if it's because my patients are sicker, or if it's just because it's Christmas week and the thought of kids being sick and stuck in the hospital for the holidays. Anyway, I'll be headed to bed soon because hospital time sucks and I have to be up at 4AM. Joy.

  • Sami- I love the 1st and 3rd.  Oh and I LOVE that store.  There is one very close to me and I am in there all of the time making wish lists.  HAA

Hike- that is so sweet.  I have a tradition that each year I get an elderly lady and man off of the tree at the store I shop.  The tree is for seniors in nursing homes that do not have any family to speak of.  Well this year, I got my typical one of each but when I went back I noticed there were still three left on the tree and the gifts were due that day.  So I took all three of them and bought them their items.  Oh and I added in a little blanket for each.
  • I like the grey one too!!!  I feel lucky that FI doesn't care what I do with our house.  He trusts my taste luckily and just doesn't care.  I painted an accent wall in our bedroom Raspberry this summer while he was outside working and had no idea.  His response was "I live with a chick, I can have pink walls and that makes it ok."  lol ahhh the reasoning of a man!  So after he was ok with it I proceeded to put metal flower sculptures above the bed as a headboard...it turned out quite nice and romantic!!
