Budget-Friendly Vendors

Hi ladies,

Can you provide me with suggestions on budget friendly vendors including a DJ, photographer and videographer?  My overall wedding budget is small, so I only have a max of $2k left for the above vendors.

A videographer would be a luxury, but if I can find someone who is starting out and has wedding videos that I can view, I'd be open to that.

A photographer is the most important, but I am open to student photographers or folks who are just starting out, but who have worked some weddings already and have pictures I can see.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Budget-Friendly Vendors

  • Hey I am using Jennifer from "Just be Photojennic" she is awesome and a Bride herself! She is willing to work with you on budget and to TRY and get you everything you want for a good price. I am doing bridals, a 16x20 print, 6 hours of the wedding day for 1200. You can pick a package or pick a choose what you like her website is http://www.justbephotojennic.com. Hope this helps!
    Tell her Keli sent you!
  • I am using Somnium Studio for my videographer. And they are just starting out, but I love the video they have posted on their Facebook page. And their packages are very reasonable....nothing over $900. Any questions let me know? Good luck!
  • The second shooter from my wedding starts at $1350.  Her photos are really beautiful.

You might have to cut out the videographer unless you can up your budget.
  • DJ - David Storm with Omega Sound & Entertainment. Total pro, starts at $500. His wife owns Belle Amour Photography and they do discounts if you book them both. Can't help with Videographers, we didn't use one.

    Good luck
  • The videography is a splurge for us too so I plan on contacting the vidiographer recommended by another Knottie a few months back.  She said he was only $500.

    Good luck!

You can find tons of recommendations for Christina O'malley who is my florist. She will work within your budget. Another suggestion is DIY flowers through rouses downtown or on tchoupitoulas or whole foods. I personally am not booking the videographer until the very end if i have extra money left over. You didn't mention cake, but just in case you need that too, I am using Megan Foucheaux of cake designs by Meg. She is very easy to work with and budget friendly. Good luck!
  • I'm using Lauren Carroll for my photographer. Her prices are awesome and her pictures look amazing! I havm't taken my engagement pictures or anythig with her yet, but so far she has been so easy to work with!

I second Lauren. Her work is beautiful! She's taking our engagement pictures very soon. I went to school with her and know plenty of people who have used her. She is so nice and her photos are amazing!!

  • Simone Epiphany will give you several hours of coverage (or however much you need) for $1,000 - $1,200 and we're expecting lots of photos.  She seemed to do a good job but haven't got my pictures back yet to comment.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • I'm using bnmphotoblog.com  Amazing couple to work with! They did our engagement shoot already, and will work within any budget. Very reasonable prices Just remember, you get what you pay for!
