Olde Gahanna Sanctuary

Has anyone had a wedding reception at Olde Gahanna Sanctuary? I love their short amount of rules, but I worry about the tear-down (this venue does not provide set-ups or tear-downs). I'd hate to ask my guest to clean up after the party.

i haven't been to one but it sure seems awesome to me. i would call them and ask if they recommend any local people/businesses/students who could do setup/teardown. as you mentioned, it really isn't cool to have your guests do tear down. i've done that before as a bridesmaid and a guest and it sucks!
also you could see if you could pay some of your caterer's staff to stay and do tear down?

My BFF is getting married there May 2013 and she is so excited. I would not worry about the tear down. At my cousins wedding they had to do tear down and about 25 people stayed and helped and it took us probably around 30 minutes, People will help you

If you love the place then go for it.

I'm going to a wedding there next month, I'll let you know how it goes.  I'm close to the couple, so I'll try and find out what they have arranged.

We had our reception there this past September. Their essentially no rules policy was great.

For tear-down, all you need to do is take down chairs / tables and stack them (they don't have to go anywhere specific) and take out the trash. My caterer did this because she said it's what she normally does anyway so there wasn't even an extra charge for it (I had Laura's Catering). She even boxed up our centerpieces and table runners for us. Some of my family stayed and took down some of the fabric and other random decorations we had and threw them in a car to bring to me the next day. It honestly took no more than 30 minutes (and they're not super strict about leaving right at midnight either... we definitely were there later).

They do make you give them a $100 check as a deposit, that they void if there's no cleaning for them to do. But we confirmed with them prior to the event that we didn't need to wash or mop or sweep anything. If our caterer wasn't going to take down the table/ chairs and take out the trash for us, we were considering just calling it a wash and letting them cash our $100 deposit.

Don't stress - it really wasn't even an issue and took no time at all :)
