Any updates?! This board is so slowww...

Hi Ladies,

I feel like ever since they changed the format of the boards this one has been so slowww! Any new updates from anyone with your planning process?

We met with our florist last weekend and decided on centerpieces and bouquet ideas. It wasn't what I thought I wanted but I love them! Idea pictures updated in bio.

We are meeting with our reception hall this weekend to finalize everything and pick out linens. Then we won't be meeting with them again until 2 weeks before the wedding!

I am working on hotel accommodation inserts for our save the dates. They will all be out in the mail by this weekend! Laughing

    This board needs serious CPR!

We're meeting with a florist on Sunday - no idea what to expect.  I don't really care or know much about flowers so this should be interesting!  Did your florist mock anything up for you or just show you pictures?  Did you put a deposit down?

Our STDs went out Friday (yay!), in 2 weeks we meet with a TA to help plan our honeymoon to Hawaii, and my dress and our wedding bands should be coming in this month!

PS - one of my BMs had her reception at Renault a few years back and everything was really great.  She had a fantastic experience with them.  And whatever blueberry champagne or wine I had was fabulous Cool

I met with a florist last weekend too.  Still waiting on a quote.  PharmJen, I just gave her ideas of colors, shape of bouquet, heighth of centerpieces etc and let her figure out what flowers would work.  I'm not a big flower person either, and let her know.  If we go with this florist, she said she will do a mock up of the centerpieces and possibly the bouquet.

Other than that, I'm just cruising through the holidays :)  I have the major vendors booked, dress ordered, STDs sitting in a box waiting to be mailed.... and 8 more months to go!  I still have to book the florist but I'm having trouble finding time to go and meet with each of them.  I'll meet with our wedding coordinator and schedule tastings and stuff after the new year.

    Hello ladies,
I absolutely agree w/the change in format things are a lot slower... and I don't really like the new format.
ANywho, the most exciting thing is that we have hit the 6 MONTH countdown!!!  OMG!!  Where is the time going??
Other important things are:  we officially have an officiant (wohoo!!!); cake tasting is on the 12th (yum); I don't need much, but I will start looking at flowers soon; AND we have been talking about our honeymoon (FMIL has time share in FLA) so, we may be taking an inexpensive yet FUN trip to FLA (great because of our small budget). HOpefully I can get my FI to Disney for at least 2 days!! :-)

So...that's all that I can think of for me... anyone else out there??

Glad to hear everyone is doing well with their planning process! Our next big focus is the honeymoon and some of the smaller details. We are torn between Aruba and Antigua

I'm not a huge flower person either and still don't know some of the names that we will be using lol. Unfortunately they did not have any mock settings for us. We were able to look at some of the flowers but some were just pictures. We did bring a few pictures in of what we liked. They said we can go back as our date gets closer and we can see an arrangement put together. We are putting the deposit down next week, we are waiting for them to mail the contract.

PharmJen glad to hear your friend had a great experience with the Renault! Luckily we have heard nothing but good things about them and are so excited to have our reception there!

cmaygrl, I agree I am not liking this new format! Congrats on the 6 month mark! Time is going by too fast!

I agree with PP as well; this board used to be a lot livlier!  I think a lot of brides got married in recent months and no longer post on here.  Anyway, as for me, I have nine months to go and most major vendors are booked except florist and possible DOC.  Still debating on whether to use florist for CPs or go the DIY route and have my aunt make them.  I will have to call her soon. Need to find out what I need to do about linens, flatware, and glassware:  do I rent or buy?  Also have to meet with caterer closer to the wedding about the cake that they're providing.  As for checks:

-I have wedding gown, shoes, and accessories
-STDs ordered and on their way
-DJ, photog, and videog booked with deposits paid
-Purchased a gorgeous, 21-piece silk bridal bouquet, corsage, and boutonniere package
-Bridesmaids given swatch to purchase whatever gown they want as long as it's the color of the swatch and floor-length (gave them David's Bridal catalogues for ideas)

    Whew!  That's it so far!

HI ladies! I haven't posted in a while, but I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well and planning is coming along.  We also just met with our florist and I was very pleased with our centerpieces.  We are sending out our save the dates hopefully by the end of this week beginning of next.  I am excited for Saturday because that's our 6 month mark..I can't believe how fast it's going!!

The 6 month mark is very exciting!  Looks like several of us just hit or are about to hit it.  S. Jersey is going to need some more brides to keep this place alive come next year!

I live in DE, work in Philly and grew up/getting married in NJ so I check out all three boards and all of them have been pretty slow since the update.  I'm not on TK all the time because my planning is pretty slow right now.  It was much more helpful when I was initially looking for vendors!

Anyways, glad everyone is putting along.  Looks like we all have about the same stuff done.  I'm struggling with my registry, particularly dishes!  I need to find invitations and programs too.  I've also convinced FI that I will not have fun at an all female bridal shower so now we are going co-ed.  I think it'll be fun, plus everyone can get to know each other before the wedding.

Yeah I'm sure some of the boards might start picking up after the Holiday's. Its a very common time for people to get engaged. I know when we go to see the tree in NYC for the past 3 years we have seen at least 2 proposals each time we are there.

LOL and I bet after seeing all those proposals at the same spot you think, "Yeah, real original"

FI proposed to me on a horse-drawn carriage in Philly on Valentine's Day!

Yeah I felt really bad for the one girl. All the tourists started clapping and cheering and pointing, the poor girl couldn't even hear what her boyfriend was trying to say while he was proposing.
