Thoughts on Nautica reception?

Any thoughts on a Nautica Queen reception? Our guests would be trapped on board for 3 hours, and we have some elderly people...but we really want to show off Cleveland, the price is right, the DJ is included, and the date is free. Any thoughts? Has anyone done this?

It isn't something I'd do, because of the lack of flexibility, but if it's what you envision for your big day, go for it!

I know that we had guests who were able to attend our reception, but had to come later because of work schedules or other commitments. If we had held it on a boat, they wouldn't have been able to come at all. Also, if someone has to leave early (maybe a couple with kids that has to get home to the sitter by a certain time OR if someone doesn't feel well OR perhaps they have to get up early for work the next morning, etc), that's not an option on a boat. Once you're aboard, that's it until it docks at the end.

Do they offer shorter cruises that you might incorporate into your rehearsal dinner instead?

I think you are so right. AND I like the idea of having the rehearsal on there!!!! I will mention that to Matt... I'm especially worried about the elderly people in the group. A boat would NOT be fabulous for them.

Some people just hate boats. I am one of them. They make me feel trapped  Yell

We did a company event on the Majestic when it was still around, it was about 2 hours and it felt like 30 minutes, it was a great evening event and everyone loved it, private events on these types of things are pretty memorable, we would do it again.
