My wedding day was beautiful....But Geesh!

I live by the slogan "You get what you pay for".  But my husband and I spent a nice chunk of change on what we thought would be reliable people and I can't help but be a little upset at the results.  First starting with the musicians.  They were two hours late to the ceremony with no good explanation.  They were suppose to be there playing during the cocktail hour at 5 and the ceremony was suppose to begin at 5:30 and did not begin until 7.  We paid our wedding coordinator to decorate the ceremony and reception and coordinate the ceremony.  I will say she did a beautiful job decorating.  It was beautiful.

Now, when it comes to coordination she did Horrible.  She yelled at family and talked to people as if they were slow.  She turned into the coordinator from hell.  Up until the wedding day I thought we had hired the perfect person for the job.  She forgot to tell the groom and pastor when to come out.  I walked down the aisle to no one.  My Mom had to run out and tell the groom and the pastor to come in.  Then the wedding coordinator finally runs around the corner to tell them to come in while apologizing for forgetting. She refused to allow the groom's stepfather to escort his wife in after we had already discussed that he would.  After confronting her after the wedding, she apologizes because she forgot again.  At the end of the ceremony she stopped us at the end of the aisle instead of letting us exit out of the doors we came in.  Everyone was just looking back at us while we were standing at the end of aisle.  It just looked crazy!

The wedding and reception was in the same location but in different rooms.  The guests were seated not told that they could proceed to the reception location like we discussed with the wedding coordinator.  The whole time that we were in the wedding site taking pictures, the guests were just standing around.  I could go on and on but the guests were not told when to eat I had to tell the wedding coordinator to let the guests eat they had been here for hours.  She didn't do much of anything when it came to coordinating and I felt like we gave money away.  By the time we got ready to cut the cake, it so chaotic.  The groom yelled at her and I was just too out done by this point.  After the wedding, she proceeded to fuss at my Mom telling her that she needed to sit down which I didn't understand because if it wasn't for my Mom many of the details would not have been taken care of.

To top it all off, my father told the pastor that he was going downstairs to the ATM to take care of the pastor and he never did.  He lied to the pastor!  The hubby and I had to use some of our wedding gift money to pay the pastor.  My Dad lied and said he was going to the ATM and had actually left the wedding.  Disgusting!

But although we had many negatives, I am still happy that we decided to get married here in front of our family and friends.
