40th birthday ideas?

Both H and his best friend turn 40 next month and we're all headed back to MO/NE to celebrate.  The best friends wife has already bought things (for both of them) from the year they were born, picked up some 40th birthday decorations and party things. 

Any suggestions for gag gifts or party favors?  I'll have to pack them since I may not have access to a car or time to sneak away once we get there.

    I always thought this was kind of funny, and you could change it to 40, or just make a little tag for some suckers that says "40 sucks".

    I don't dig the gag gift type parties.  Just not my thing/doesn't spark my sense of humor.  But I did go to a friend's 40th party that included all kinds of 40 year old gifts.  40 year old scotch, a box of popular candy from his childhood, a plaque commemorating "40 years of making American women drool".. those sort of things.  

    i really should start thinking on this stuff myself.  My H isn't a party guy but when 40 hits, I think a party would be nice.

    Dot, thanks!  That got me thinking about non-gag things like Best Picture & top album from 1972. 

    Licia, my BF mentioned that sucker thing too.  I'm thinking of changing it to 40 Bites though and instead of doing suckers get his favorite candy bar in the mini-size instead. 

    jcb, I laughed at the thought of going through airport security with all of that stuff in my bag.  :)
