BM hair/make-up

heyy ladies! so i'm giving my 8 BM the option of getting their hair and make-up done. I'll bring someone in for them to use. I found a women who my friend's sisters both used in their weddings and i'm using her for a wedding I'm in on Friday for my hair and she recently started a new business with a make-up artist and offer a $100 hair and make-up package. i think that price looks good considering i've seen make-up alone in my city for BM between $50 to $75. i sent a email to all my BM asking if they thought that was reasonable and i'm hoping they say yes because i really like this women who does the hair.

i guess what i'm asking is if you think that $100 is okay (the BM dresses they are ordering are $200

)

I think $100 for hair & makeup is a great deal! If my girls choose to have theirs done it'll end up costing them $75 for hair & $65 for (airbrush) makeup.

Yepp! That sounds like a great deal. The company I am using is charging $155 for BM hair and makeup and that is considered a good deal here.

Your BM's probably have the option of doing just hair or makeup to save some money as well, most of mine are doing both hair and makeup but one opted for just hair

I have mixed feelings about this. I think the cost is reasonable but some people, like me have a girl i use and she does an amazing job. I also.like.my makeup. Dont be surprised.if someone wants to do their own. I've been in, and i'm not joking, 23 weddings as an adult, and when we had to use the make and hair girl it was terrible and took forever. I've seen fights over this only one time it was pleasant and the bride rented out a salon and we drank and ate and it was so fun. I'm going to offer a make up and hair girl but if they don't use it I won't be upset. But the price its awesome.

I think it's reasonable. I am actually paying for my BM's hair and make up and it's running me about 75 per BM.

</div><div>This... I certainly haven't been in 23 weddings (kill me), but I've been in tons of group make up and hair situations. NEVER liked the final product. Always ended up wasting money on it, usually ending up with pink eye (I'm very sensitive), and often washed it all out and did it myself before the event. FSIL just emailed us to tell us how much her makeup person was, and I told her I'm doing it myself.

The price is definitely good for what you want. I agree with the others on just offering it instead of making it a requirement that they pay for the service. I plan on doing my own makeup since most of the time I don't like how I look in the end when someone else has done it. My BMs have all expressed wanting to get their hair professionally done and have no qualms about paying for it.

Yes it is reasonable. Hair and make-up for my BMs will be 90, which is really good for my area.

Sorry about the terrible quality of the post earlier - I was using my phone and it's a total PIA. Yea - 23. Do you believe that crap? I have multiples of the same bridesmaid dress LOL. It's acutally for that reason that we aren't doing a formal wedding party - it's so expensive and some brides are just TERRIBLE.

Mel - You're spot on. Ive seen a couple girls with pink-eye and break out terribly. You have no idea how old their makup is, if their tools are clean and there is just a lot of ifs. Like I said it wasn't a common occurence that everyone enjoyed themselves but it did prove some great photo's especially when we had robes or matching outfits on.

See what your girls want BUT I beg you don't offer them the makeup as their bridemaid gift. If it's part of the "requirement" it shouldn't be included. I was in a wedding where that, a mani and pedi and our jewlery were our gifts. I wasn't ungrateful but I couldn't use anything again and it was so much money simply for the brides benefit. The best gifts I received included an embroidered robe, bag, wine glasses and diamond earings. LOL. Way off topic ladies - I'm sorry LOL.
