Has anyone started a registry yet?

FI and I know that we are registering at Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl's but we haven't started a registry yet. I was planning on waiting until after the holidays to register at Kohl's because we are going to register for linens and things there that may be discontinued between now and June. I  was thinking about registering at BB&B somewhat soon because my mom said that she would like to buy us things off of our registry for Christmas.

Anyone else know when they are registering?

    FI and I actually just registered at BBB on a whim Sunday. I was going to wait until around the after as well, but I didn't want to deal with the holiday shopping/returning crowd and it was something FI was looking forward to doing. I'm guessing my shower will be between February-April so doing it now actually gives us more time to play with it and change things than if we had waited until after the holidays.

    FI and I are registering at Macys and BBB and we are registering the first week of October, I have a spot reserved for us at Macys scan for a grand event. Our family wants to be able to buy stuff off of it for Christmas too. I think it will give us plenty of time and leeway incase we change our minds on certain items.

    FI and I are registering at BBB and Walmart. We are going to probably start in October that way any family memebers that want to get us stuff for christmas can.

    We're doing BBB and probably amazon. My mom works for BBB and she strongly cautions against making a registry earlier than six months out. If you mom wants to buy you some thing you could probably make one for her to use then update it after the holidays. Or you could just go in and find things and jot them down then give her the list.

    We are doing BB&B, Target, Kohl's, and Macys. I already set up the registry but we won't be putting things on there until January or so.

    We are doing BBB and Kohls. We are hoping to register over my Thanksgiving break but it really depends on when either he gets leave or I can make it down to FL

    CNF, out of curiosity, why does your mom say not to register more than 6 months out? Because things can be discontinued/changed before then? Does she mean 6 months before the wedding or the shower? My shower is going to be in early March, so in essentially 7 months from now.
