How is your holiday weekend coming along?

Good Morning!

Have you all been enjoying your (hopefully) long weekend?

I am so glad to have a 3 day weekend. It's been quite relaxing. Started the weekend off with some severe tan lines. Good thing I have a few months to rememdy that.

I am currently watching Whose Wedding is it Anyway? and one of the couples has a 42 (yes 42!!) person wedding party! Who does that??

Good Mornin Loopy!  FI had to work today (how insane is that!?) so I'm just sitting here watching a Cake Boss marathon on TLC.

My weekend was okay.  We had a fish fry yesterday.  I had to drink to get through dealing with FI and his long-term-never-going-to-marry girlfriend and her kids.  Nothing else too overly exciting...

42 people is insane.  That really takes away from the "special-ness" of it.  Those are supposed to be your closest friends/family and by having 42 you're basically making a joke of that honor.

    Moving on,
I'm in Canada.  Our holiday weekend was last weekend *tear* so I'm at work.  UGH

    Hey guys!

Friday was my last day of work ever. Yay! So, it was boring... I answered the phone, which didn't ring much, and opened 2 files. That's all.

I don't really know what became of Saturday, other than we went grocery shopping. I guess FI and I just didn't do anything else.

Yesterday was busy but great! I cleaned the apartment all morning, and then my grandparents, cousin, and her two kids finaly arrived! I'm so glad they're here! We went to dinner at Olive Garden (leftover baked ziti for breakfast today lol), then came back to our apartment so the kids could run around by the lake. They were stuck in a car for two days, so obviously they needed to get OUT.

I'm going to call them as soon as I'm finished breakfast and see what they want to do today.

FI said last night he hasn't seen me this relaxed in a long time. Smile

What?  Your FI has a girlfriend?  Or an ex-girlfriend?  Or a female friend?

My weekend was okay.  FBIL and FFIL are both here and I'm not a big fan of either of them.  His dad is okay I guess.

I ordered my save the date cards!

Ana, I think it's her FFIL's girlfriend. If I remember correctly.

Thanks, Jeter! It's just nice to be around people who know me and love me even if I say something confusing or stupid. I don't have to think so much. I can just BE.

Ana - I was wondering the same thing, but I am guessing it was the  FFIL GF as Jeana suggested.

Ana did you get the 2 different save the dates?

Loopy - I ordered the boarding pass STDs which will be for everyone who is traveling.  The seller is going to print a few of them in Spanish without charging me an additional deposit and design fee.  So I'm happy about that!

We still haven't ordered the plain cards for non-traveling guests.  All of those will be in Spanish.

The weekend has been good. Spent lots of quality time with family Saturday and yesterday. This morning I weed-wacked the front and back yards and now I'm trying to get the motivation to go to the garden center to buy flowers to plant.

Jeana, I'm glad your family has arrived! You sound far less stressed now!

Loopy, 42 people in a bridal party is ridiculous. Honestly I don't think I know 21 people to be bridesmaids!

Jeter, my FI has to work today to. Sucks huh?

I've just been catching up on sleep.  My grandma is in the hospital again and my parents have to postpone-if not cancel- their 28th anniversary vacation because of it. It's raining.. storming.. typhooning... here, so all memorial day plans are rained out.

Apparently they don't celebrate Memorial Day here.Back home I usually end up at 2 parades and a bunch of cook outs. They don't have parades here and no one I know is having a cookout (plus its about 50 degrees and raining). Friday night I convinced all my brazillian/chilean friends to have a "memorial" day BBQ even though they don't know what memorial day is. I will take any excuse to have a brazilian BBQ, if you have ever had one you know what I mean.

I don't have to work today, ok, well I don't have to go into work today but my Lit Review is due tomorrow and I am not close to done...

    Heya ladies :-)

It's not a holiday weekend here, but mine was action packed!! It was heaven for motorsport fans, Barbados' annual international rally was this weekend. So two 6am - 9pm days watching suer fast cars and stunts back to back. Add liquor, music, broil in hot sun, and stir. Needless to say, I am in recovery mode today. Thank God I don't have to go anywhere.

Needless to say, my arms now look like Brigitte Nielson's, and I'm taking the day off from manual labor to rest my weary shoulders.

I dragged my Bridesmaid to the dress store and ordered dresses. 4 months! I about felll over, why would it take four months? While that was happening we found out 2-3 years of lies from the Best man, so he's out. Yes, that's right, we kicked someone out of the wedding, and he might not even be invited. Technically, we didn't send him a save the date, so that's ok right?

We had our wedding shower yesterday, and had an amazing time with friends and family. SO much fun! And, FI's parents bought ALL of our dishes -- 12 full sets (cereal bowl, soup bowl, salad plate, dinner plate, coffee cup & saucer)! I still can't believe how generous they were!

My parents were in town for the shower so my mom was able to attend my first dress fitting on Saturday. She hadn't seen me in my dress yet, so it was pretty exciting. :)

Also, the seamstress took one look at me in my dress and said, "You need a smaller dress!" Luckily David's had a smaller size in stock so I was able to trade them out no problem.

Yesterday we had breakfast with BF's parents, went to lunch with my grandparents and got stuff to start a garden. We are going to work on the garden today. BF might have to go into work for a little bit though.

*hugs Hetshup* That's definitely not a fun time..i'm sorry about all that. Hope everyhting works out soon for you.

Jeana I'm so glad you are more relaxed now , that's how you should be days before your wedding , omg *squeee* 4 days! Yay!

We bought our DIY invites and wedding rings Saturday and I had my fitting  in 100 degree weather and i'm so glad my dress is rather light overall and flowy , it was rather comfotrable to be in even in that heat! I had to rush to work after and passed out asleep at about midnight.

Yesterday I had to work but the day flew by. Then I got told one of our window coverings specialists had to go back home overseas because of family so now I am getting tossed into the most stressful depeartment as coverage and had to watch 5 hours of boring videos and take massive notes. Part of me wishes I could break into it..would be higher pay rate and comission..never done commisioned sales but people think I should so we'll see.

Today I have to work..all day..while it's freaking beautiful out argh! But I am off tomorrow..please beautiful weather hold out so I can make use of the park and pool lol !

That's so awesome! I'm going to have a selfish/honest moment here- I REALLY hope someone buys our dishes. They're online-only... so we probably won't get them until after the wedding with gift cards or something. But I love them so much!

A very sweet person sent us the salt and pepper shakers and just seeing them makes me so happy! Such a cheerful pattern and colors! It makes me want to dance or something.

We did get a neat hand-painted purple polka-dotted bowl, and funny enough it matches the salt and pepper shakers really well in style and tone (there isn't any purple in the shakers). Neat!

Well, the kicker was telling us all that someone close to him had died. Which he's been perpetuating  for 2 years now. He went to that "funeral" the same weekend that I was home for a funeral, so I'm really angry about that. He told us he's doing coke, which actually makes more sense if he is.

And I failed to realize that SPF 15 is not as good as SPF 45

My goodness people have been busy. I was at my moms all day. The boards were dead all weekend and I come on tonight and see like 10 new posts. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Ana - that's awesome that you won't be charged more for the save the dates.

KD - well like 6 of the 42 were children, so she only had 18 bridesmaids.

Narwhal - sorry to hear about your grandma.

Chipy - I'm jealous about your free trip! That's great!

Baje - That sounds like a really fun event to be at.

Desert - Glad to hear you had a great shower and have very generous FIL's!

Hetshup - Sorry to hear about the drama, and with such a close friend at that.

Tafft - It's great that your dress is comfortable in such incredible heat. Good luck with the new position and I hope you really enjoy it.
