September 2012 Weddings

Getting Closer!!!!

With getting my taxes back we officially hit our wedding budget 6 months early!!!  Now we get to really start thinking about the honeymoon!  We are thinking of traveling on the Allure of the Seas with Royal Caribbean!!!!  We are thinking of leaving on September 16th, I know its the middle of hurricane season but I was wondering if cruise insurance would cover weather related events if a hurricane were to come?  I am super excited!  This will be my 5th cruise and first "normal" cruise, I've been on Norwegian and Carnival twice for the Barenaked Ladies cruise, no not real barenaked ladies, the band barenaked ladies.  We are going to hit the eastern carribean islands of St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Nassau!!!

Re: Getting Closer!!!!

  • We debated a cruise but decided to just do 7 nights in Cuba instead :)
  • Just talked to my dear hubs and he informed me we will be taking a "second honeymoon" after the 1st of the year!!! As his thank you to me for helping with all the planning!

Must be nice to just pick up and go to Cuba haha.  I think the fact that it's prohibited for Americans makes us want to go there even worse.  You HAVE to post pictures- either here or on FB- so I can live vicariously through you.

PP- That's awesome about reaching your budget goal early!  I'm so jealous :)  Have fun with the honeymoon- we're doing a cruise, too.  We've cruised in September before and had gorgeous weather the whole time (knock on wood).  When we got back home though, it was abosloutely POURING rain and Atlanta had had a massive flood that week.  So we actually escaped hurricane weather for paradise.

I'm not sure about cruise insurance covering the weather, but I do know that if you're on a cruise and one of the islands is being affected by a hurricane, the cruise will simply go to another island.  You won't go to the port(s) you signed up for, but you'll go somewhere at least :)
