venues and clearheavens pm

clearheavens I sent you a PM (maybe twice on accident lol)

I am going to look at radisson, embassy suites, the gardens/marquise, summit hills cc, and the redmoor this weekend, anyone have any thoughts/input?  I have already been sent and viewed the pricing guides, they are all pretty comparable, the mchales places being the most affordable.

I think the redmoor is the most my style, but they only have dates past december 2011...not ideal.  Any other ideas for venues for 200 at or below 45pp with a bar package before tax/gratuity in the nky/downtown cinci area?  Are millenium hotel/westin pricing out of control?  A hotel would be ideal because I anticipate a lot of out of towners/heavy drinkers.  Marriott is not an option.

Thanks!

You could try the Syndicate.  It has an old nightclub feel (for a reason).  I loved having my wedding there!  GL!

I think the syndicate is really cool, too, but one of my (probable) BMs got married there a few years ago, and I would rather explore other options first.  But you're right, it's even purple, my fave color.  Also, her wedding had like 500 ppl, I think that huge room might dwarf my crowd.  Nonetheless you've inspired me to call them and add them to the tour list.  Do they provide valet or a parking?  Or is it a newport free for all?

    Thanks!

I've been to several weddings at McHale's locations (Marquise, Grand, and Drees), and they've all been great.  Their food is very good, and the brides have had great things to say about the staff.

Another inexpensive option in Covington is Benchmark.  I don't have any personal experience, but I've heard good things from friends.

We booked with Embassy - have not had the actual wedding yet, but so far I have had no issues working with them! If you want to know anything specific just let me know!

They do have valet. I don't remember all of the details, but I know we had it (cost or whatnot).  The lot across the street was reserved.  Although I do remember that we had a late wedding (wedding at 7) and there was a ton of parking available without valet.  We were also able to stay close for an afterparty.  The room upstairs would have dwarfed us as well, which is why we chose downstairs.  The benefits were free chair covers and pinspot lighting.  My MOH got annoyed with me saying over and over that my tables looked so good.  GL!
