Any of you ladies book Jen as your photographer? I did last April, but then I just got a letter from Amanda basically saying she's been MIA...at least with her. Have any of you had contact with Jen recently? Just wondering if I should be considering different avenues. The clock is tickin'...

I booked Jen.... I did not get a letter saying she has been MIA, I got a letter saying she is starting her own business.

Have you tried emailing her? Jen's email is still the same as far as I know, and I"ve looked for a new Jen MacPherson website and there isn't one up and running yet...

I got the new business letter, but just today I got a letter from Amanada saying she's been MIA. It also offers 3 options: stick with Jen, use a different photographer Amanda found with all the same pricing, or get out of the contract. It just seems a little concerning that Amanda would send out a letter like that.

Anyway, I haven't e-mailed Jen, but I wanted to see if anyone had contact with her recently just in case I didn't get an answer. That, and I need to come up with some excuse to e-mail her.

I also booked Jen and got the same letter in the mail. I emailed Jen saying I was just checking to make sure everything was still good with the new company, and she was still available for my date. She called me immediately after I sent the email (like within 10 minutes of sending it) and was very reassuring. Plus she will be giving me a DVD of all unedited pics the wedding night. The edited pics will still come later. It sounds like there are some issues between the two of them, but she reassured my that she was still excited and available to do my wedding.

I'm in the same situation....that makes me feel better...i was kind of starting to freak out..i book her a year and half in advance. I'm going to call her tomorrow to make sure everything is cool. The way i see it, I want her to be my photographer...that's why i booked so far in advance. I love my engagement photos, but i just don't want to end up one of those brides on channel 4 who never recieve their wedding photos!!

Had originally booked Jen for our wedding. Received the letter saying she was going out on her own. We tried contacting her several times and had no response, she definately was MIA.

Amanda was an absolute gem the entire time. She tried to help us find an alternate but we did end up cancelling our contract and finding a new photographer. I couldn't deal with the terrible communication. I would wait weeks for jen to respond, it's just not very comforting.

I would absolutely reccomend Amanda, as for Jen - I'm just glad I realized when I still had a lot of time before the wedding.

We booked through Adam Sparkes, he was absolutely dynamic and has been great at emailing me back within 24 hours. He was a little more than Amanda but the same style. http://www.breakfastwithadam.com/

Amanda has some contacts with other photographers in the same price range. She'll be more than willing to help you out:)

I have been bowled over by Miranda's professionalism in a way I never was with Jen. She is more expensive than Amanda/Jen, but at this point I'm comfortable paying for peace of mind!

I spoke to Jen this morning and had a great chat. She reassured me that she is still excited about shooting our wedding. She is going to give us a DVD of all our photos the night of the wedding, so that's nice. She is going to send us a new contract because Amanda isn't fowarding them to her. I figure whatever the drama that is going on between them is not my business, i just love her photos and she is so talented! So i feel good again!!!

Amyn1919, did Jen say whether she preferred phone or e-mail communication. I e-mailed her just because I've got a 3 hour time difference which I've come to find out is pretty rough for phone communication. Did she call you? Just curious. Maybe I'll try calling her tomorrow.
