Looking for an affordable venue, I need ideas!

Hello Ladies!

I'm getting married May 4th 2013 (date is tentative to change, the fiance just told me this)
but he wanted May 4 so he could say May the Fourth Be With You! National Star Wars Day lol.

Anyway, I'm looking for an affordable wedding - we are hoping to keep it at 5000 dollars .. some things can be negotiated of course.. but I just got a quote from a place and it was 10k

I do know May is the start of the wedding season and that doesn't help the price either. So thats why we say it's tentative.

Thanks for your help in advance!Laughing

  • The Olde Gahanna Sanctuary is around 1000 (and They have NO rules, so you can do whatever catering you want).

Also, I just found out last week that 400 W Rich st (the new hipster arts warehouse in franklinton) has an events space it rents out. It looks like a slightly more grimy north bank park.

The Arlington Swim in racquet club may be another option. You could also do a park, but make sure you have a back up rain site!

Not sure where in Columbus you are looking for, but we are going through Tall Timbers in Reynoldsburg. We have found them to be extremely affordable!
  • As far as a reception i'd look at la sscala. it was the most affordable place i found

  • We are also using the gahanna sanctuary and we are VERY happy with it!
  • I'm using the Westerville American Legion hall. It is under $800 for the entire day, less if only for the evening.

  • Jefferson Country Club is running great specials right now.

  • Blacklist golf course in Reynoldsburg. My sister getting married there in June. It is 400 for the day you can have your weeding outdoors and use their banquet hall for the reception, also there is no restriction bring you own food or caterer. It will beauriful especially that time of the year, they also have a bridge over the pond awesome for your wedding day pics. Good Luck!!!

  • im getting married at All Occassions in Waldo... just north of Delaware.  It is VERY well priced and a great facility with amazing food! I have a very small budget and they were able to work with me on everything to fit into my budget! PLUS they have an outdoor ceremony spot! :)

They were cutting out room rental fees is the main thing I can remember. I am not using them as my venue but my quote for ceremony, reception with food and beverage, plus cocktail hour was about $3,200 total. Which is an amazing deal if you ask me!

Wow! My quote is $8,100 for food, beverage, cocktail hour, and ceremony for 150 people. I will definatly be bringing this up!
  • My Fiance and I are having the ceremony and reception at Tall Timbers in Reynoldsburg. They are very affordable, especially for a Friday or Sunday event. They have a Chef on staff, and a wonderful menu. http://www.talltimbersonline.com/
  • We are doing ours at the Heimat Haus in Grove City. They are extremely affordable and you can have the ceremony there as well without an additonal charge. They do not advertise, just word of mouth I guess. They have been there for like 45 years. You can use your own caterer and bring your own alcohol if you like.
Other places that I found  (but my date was not available) and was the cheapest was the Hoover Y park
    Gahanna Sactuary
    Elks Club in Grove City
    Arlington Swim Club
    Griggs Resovoir Boat House
    Columbus Dance Center
    Harmony Artistic Center in Hilliard.

    Well good luck!
  • I am getting married in October at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary, and they have been a dream to work with. We are also saving extra by getting married on a Friday. The fact that you can bring in any caterer, and your own alcohol, translates into HUGE savings for us. :)
