  It sounds like you took her wishes into consideration and were a gracious friend.  It's unfortunate that she doesn't like the dress but at least she made that choice (not wanting to stand out) and you didn't make it for her!

  You gave her the option of getting the dress from the other designer which was really awesome of you Don't feel bad that your friend (who is presumably an adult) made a decision she's unhappy with even after being offered a viable solution.

  Sde note: Wow.. we have very similar taste in BM dresses! I had 153 as a choice for the girls and loved 105 too. I ended up with 323 and 156 in pewter

  
  

    I was in a situation like yours.  I told the girls to chose the dresses they liked the most, and we would go from there.  One of mine was obssessed with 153 and I loved it too.  She was the only one who wanted it, and the other 5 (MOH is in a dress by herself) chose two dresses, so it was 3 in one dress, 2 in another, and 1 in a different.  So my BM who loved 153 said she felt weird being the only one in a halter style while the others were all in strapless.  I told her I did not care and wanted her to wear what she loved, but she chose to go with a strapless like everyone else, and I could tell she was really disappointed.  But, like you, I gave her the choice and that was the best we could have done! It was their choice not to chose it.

  Ya, I wouldn't feel bad. She made her decision, and from what you said it is similar to the one she liked best. I don't see why a BM would get terribly upset. How much does she plan on wearing it afterward?
