DIY-ers

Where do you get your ideas for your DIY projects? Everything I've seen posted here is amazing! I was just telling FI that I want to get all the girls in his family and mine together to do the invites - his mom & sisters are into that Stampin' Up & make all of their birthday, holiday, etc. cards.

I also would like to make my own centerpieces. I know I want to do something with mason jars and I can't have candles at my reception.

I want to browse around for ideas but where??

I got a lot of ideas off of blogs & from other Knottie bios.  A good way to also find things, are to do a google image search on whatever you're looking for & then the image will lead you to the blog/website it's from.  Also, check out Pinterest... There are MILLIONS of ideas there for wedding stuff!  = )

Ditto the pp but also I went to (clicky) and found a lot of ideas/information under the DIY section - I keep in mind is a. how much is it going to cost to do it myself vs how much is it going to cost to purchase completed b. how can I make this my own - I don't want to do EXACTLY what all of the other brides are doing and then c. is it worth it to me (cause your guests wont notice EVERYTHING you have done)

For invites, I went to Anchor paper in Plymouth once I had an idea as to what I wanted

Me and my mom did everything DIY. I can email you pictures if you would like some ideas. I also am selling all of my blue mason jars, rose pink jars and clear jars(posted in the selling in the MPLS above). We had a vintage themed wedding with jars, banners, bird cages, candy buffet, etc. Not sure of your colors but we did vintage pastels (orange, yellow, blue, pink, purple, green, ivory, burlap). I found my ideas from Etsy and Style me Pretty.

I got a lot of ideas from other knotties and from googling pictures online. I stayed away from bridal blogs and magazines, but I did look at a lot of historical images and catalogues since I had a vintage theme. I scoured stores for anything that I felt could be useful and tried to find things that would fit my theme and shave money off of my budget.
